new article on scout saying the gators have now offered. any inside info?

Just says that he hears from Miami and UF but is ALL VOL and is trying to persuade Cody Riggs to join UT. Gran and L Kiffin are eating dinner with his family sometime this week.

Stop worrying...

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., placekicker and Vol commitment Michael Palardy isn't sure where the rumors came from regarding an offer from the Florida Gators, but the nation's second-ranked kicker has not heard from them and is not interested in hearing from them. Palardy's focus is on the Vols and getting to Knoxville.

Misinterpretation by the interviewer. Palardy called to rectify the misprint and all is settled. I called to congratulate Mike and family when I read the piece, but they informed me that there was no offer, but something Mike said during interview was misconstrued as an offer. He hears from UF and Miami all the time as well as LSU. Solid family values keeps him true to his commitments. I know this family well, parents would not allow a change unless the circumstances were unhealthy for Mike.

How can we expect the recruits to stay loyal to their commitments when the coaching staff cant keep theirs?

This staff emphasizes recruiting more so than any other. I bet if any of our current commits (and luc) follow any of these coaches elsewhere this year that this staff will declare war on their entire program.

i read that when palardy got the offer from florida he said sumthin like he made a commitment and he was sticking to it and all he was thinking about was getting to knoxville.....

If that does happen...if CLK was smart, he would hire Tim Conrad. He was Palardy's original kicking coach at STA and Palardy continues to train with him in and out of season. He's the one on the highlight tape with the Tennessee hat. He is a special teams guru and knows how to train and tweak punters and kickers to get the best out of them. Palardy would probably follow him.

Gosh, that kid looks good in Tennessee Orange. I can not wait to see him kick the ball through the endzone on kickoffs.

If Gran leaves we will have to designate a special teams coach..... (OK, I'll admit our special teams sucked)

How is Dale Jones doing with special teams at Appalacian (sp?) State?

There's some intensity!

being the special teams coach next year will not be hard, ok michael, kick it through the endzone, everyone else, do whatever.

Palardy is a EE I believe. Not a lot of time to jump ship. I think we still get Palardy regardless but I'd still rather not lose Gran.

If I recall correctly, STA does not allow its' student-athletes to graduate early thus they are unable to be an EE.

Palardy will be a Vol...

If Gran leaves, I'm not as sure about this as I was a week ago LV. I know Palardy loves Knoxville and Kiffin, but Gran pulled him.

If Palardy has any want at all to stay closer to home, I think Gran could lure him to FSU.

I'm going to say 75% to UT right now (with the thinking that Gran leaves). 100% to UT if Gran doesn't leave.

FSU has as a VERY good freshman kicker now. He's not going to FSU. Kiffin is having dinner with Palardy family tomorrow night. He's not going anywhere...
