Lol, no he may not have his opinion if it is not based in fact. These kicks were blocked because the line was blown up. There was nothing at all he could of done. One of Lincoln's for us was the same way...the other was all Lincoln's fault. There is a reason we are taking possibly 8 OL in this class and some including me think the new freshmen and the RS freshmen will look better then the Sullins boys. They were fan likable but awful OL men. I think almost every blown play last year was on them minus a small few. They were sooooo bad.

It is not a legitimate concern. I didn't see the blocked EP - but I did see the blocked field goal and it was the most sorry excuse for a field goal blocking unit I've seen. Even middle school teams who have kickers can do better than that.

If you thought the FG was bad, you should have seen the extra point. The guy was there as it was leaving his foot.

Getting kicks blocked is not a legitimate concern? Neither I nor the other guy said it was Palardy's fault, but the trend is unsettling. No one said anything bad about Palardy. Your prob right and it's just bad blocking, but don't tell me or anyone else that getting kicks blocked isn't a legit concern.

I thought he executed the on side kicks (left-footed) very well. Two in a row recovered by his team, first called back by a penalty.

Let the guy have his opinion. Palardy didn't get to wow anyone like we thought he would. Having more kicks blocked is a legitimate concern for UT fans. Hopefully he can put our minds at ease when he gets on campus!

He can have his opinion, and I will have mine...got it? Lineman not being blocked on FG attempts in a game where people only had a few days to prepare doesn't worry me,now if he was kicking really low balls and getting them blocked that would be different.

It is not that blocking on ST is not a legit concern. It is this is the Palardy thread. Thus any talk of this leads to minions of fans thinking man Palardy has a problem and then we have to have countless threads discussing the nonsense endlessly.

Reality is we had an interior blocking problem last year. It was witnessed not only on ST but on key plays when we could not trick the other team as to what we were doing. Sullins cost us 3 games IMO. They were the weakest link on the team. And I understand they were the best we had and my never ending disgust with Fulmer builds because of it.

Did he get to punt any in the game? I only caught the 4th quarter so i missed the blocked FG but most are agreeing that it wasn't on him.
Plus other than his two onside kicks (that were executed to perfection) did he get to kick one deep?

Yeah, ok, I can see that. That's why I wanted to make sure that no one said anything bad about Palardy himself. I agree that blocking was the problem at AA and that UT needs to improve that. Sometimes the intolerance for dissenting opinions on this site is just frustrating.

Nothing to worry about. I have seen him kick in person and we really have nothing to worry about in my opinion. Probably the best kicker I have seen play. He was better 3 years ago than Lincoln ever has been.

Totally his fault on both blocked kicks. He should've worked harder on perfecting the Crane technique Mr Miyagi was teaching him. He could have kicked both Dlinemen in the face and flip kicked the ball through the uprights, at least that's how Rod Wilks would do it.

It was poor line blocking......period. On one kick, the rusher out ran the play and was passed the kicker before the ball was even there!

Exactly. Neither one of us were saying it was Palardy's fault so there's no need for all the smarta** remarks from anyone. This board is here for info... I was just stating he was blocked twice. UT also had a lot of block kicks this season (which a lot of them were low and lead to replacement of our kicker). hmmm... take it for what it is worth.

......So stop posting irrelevant snide comments. We get it, the line did not block for him. Now lets move on...

You and ChiTownVol are the ones talking about the sky is falling...neither kick was Palardy's fault...I can remember when I knew very little about football...but I was only 10 or 11...lol...Go VOLS!

Wowww! WTF! ...Well looks like your reading level is not past a 10 or 11 year old because you didn't seem to read the entire statement! Did you catch the line that says clearly the line did not block for him. ChitownVol and I were both are merely stating a trend and if you read my ORIGINAL post it was ASKING if this could be a sign. I was asking for everyone else's opinion, without stating my own!!!

NO ONE thinks "the sky is falling" and for that matter that phrase is way too over-used and played-out on this forum!!!

Is that clear enough for you all-mighty Rote?! :furious3:

The tackle at the game might be a UT recruit but nothing solid yet. I am not sure what tackle/guards got beat it was more then one. It was more of a focus issue.

If they were starters I would bet one would have not done his job great.... Coleman, Robinson, Arie all played line for the east and its possible one of them screwed up too but you never know. Kicks weren't Palardy's fault though. IMO

You're probably worried Ambles will be a bust because he had Rick Clausen's doppelganger throwing to him today, right?

Not sure what some crappy left guard on today's field goal unit has to do with our issues there, but okay.

guys, dont get your pannies in a wad over this. Its the OL fault. If a guy is standing right in front of you when you kick it, no one will make it.

nah, you can still win ball games with a mediocre kicker. you cannot win games without an offensive and defensive line.
