guys, dont get your pannies in a wad over this. Its the OL fault. If a guy is standing right in front of you when you kick it, no one will make it.

Completely false. If a lineman is able to block a kick, it is always the kicker's fault (given that it's a good hold). One of my best friends was a kicker/punter at UT, and he's explained this to me very clearly. The way the ball leaves a kicker's foot is a big deal. Lots of kickers can hit a 50 yarder with nobody trying to block it...but they have to be able to get it up quick enough. He said that if the line blocks it, the blame is always on the kicker.

Well, he was wrong. A defender standing over the ball before it is kicked it NEVER the kicker's fault. Sorry...

Well my "friend" was a kicker at Tennessee in the mid-80's and he says this is complete bull.

According to Palardy if the new staff wants him then Tennessee is the only place he wants to play. The Miami visit is a backup if they pull his scholarship.

pull his scholarship? yeah right, is he that insecure? Given his history with Saban, I'm sure Dooley knows that the Saban wouldn't have a title if we had a kicker.

You have no idea what you are talking about. If the line does their job up the middle, those kicks are made and that game is close. Both of the those blocks were due to no blocking in the A gap. That's not the kicker's fault. No matter who that kicker is, you cannot kick the ball over a 6'6' player with their hands in the air, standing halfway between the snapper and the kicker, who come in uncontested. Try it some time. If the ball is blocked from behind the opposite side of the line of scrimmage, up the middle, then it is the kicker's fault. If it is blocked by the rush from the outside, then it is the kicker's fault. I've watched Palardy makes those all day long when the line blocks. He has done it his whole HS career. His ball gets up quickly. You don't have the success he's had if you are a fraud. No way any kicker makes those kicks.
