'10 FL RB Gio (Giovanni) Bernard

I dont believe we are in the lead. I would say FSU, Oregon State, and UT somewhere in the mix.

Gio took an official visit to ND last week and will be taking another one to Nebraska this weekend. He will have only 1 official visit left...

Someone who knows more than me care to make a Darkwa/Bernard comparison...

I haven't been all that impressed with Gio. I've saw him play twice and he just didn't seem to stand out.

Of course he does play for a perrenial D-1 feeder in STA...

Had we cooled on him? I can't seem to figure out what back we want most

four-star running back giovanni bernard set for the fighting irish

"i picked them because they have a good situation for me," he said. "coach (tony) alford, the running backs coach was truthful to me, and most of all, the education that they offer and life after football is my biggest thing."

other programs including oklahoma, west virginia, maryland, auburn, rutgers, boston college, pittsburgh, uconn and arkansas also offered the 5-foot-9, 195-pounder, who rushed for 1,371 yards and 16 touchdowns last fall.

Mack Brown...for sure.

1. Dyer
2. Seastrunk
3. Lattimore
4. Brown

I honestly think Dyer and Brown are the only ones we have a shot at on this list.

I would say it's
1. Dyer
2. Brown
3. Darkwa
4. Williams

Darkwa is amazing. The teams that he is putting up these huge numbers against are legit teams.

Tom Lemming thinks everyone is going to ND...
Now that Gio took to the "golden dome" I read on a Irish site that they may make a "package run" on the STA studs Joyner, Linder, Gio and Riggs also on Rivals:WW that Domers are making a major push for Prater and C. Jones. Could Irish land the STA group and Prater plus a few other studs and come out of NO where to take the number one recruiting class?

It shows how different boards are from Scout and Rivals.

We do not want Riggs unless we miss on lots of guys we are not going to miss on. He will probably end up at ND. Joyner will probably not.

For lots of guys left on our board FSU is the big competition. If they stumble down the stretch we will end up with the guys we want from Florida, not ND. We have not missed on a head to head with ND that I can think of in the last 5 years except Golden Tate and Harrison Smith. How many of these prospects are Catholic?

Not really sure..I'm Catholic and Haitian-American so I know that the Catholic appeal is HUGE to some Catholic kids but in Florida you have so many kids that are Catholic but it not a MAJOR recruiting sell like it in the nothern states and Tri-state area. These kids just want to play football for the best program(s) around. ND does have history, the TV deal and now that FSU F@#&ED UP they can use that like the rest of the coaches in the SEC. Just think they are the "sleeper" program since they're playing well and will get a Jan bowl game.

Yeah very tough to call ND a sleeper with Lou Holtz and all their NFL alums in the media talking them up all the time.

They had good recruiting with Weis during crap seasons, so I expect them to have very good recruiting in a great season. Cincinatti is actually taking some catholic kids who might otherwise want to be Domers and so is PSU I believe this year.

I think that they will finish top 10, but not close to the top couple classes. UF, both UT and UTnew (in the state that only exists because of TN Volunteers), USC, Alabama and LSU should all end up well ahead.

Penn State has done a great job with this class. It is crazy to think that when Joe Pa retires, PSU may be a much more attractive job than FSU when Bowden leaves. 10 years ago I think most of us would not have expected that, and 5 years ago I really think people would not have believed it.

I talked to someone close to UT recruiting tonight, and as I posted in another thread about Hendrix, expect this staff to go HARD after Gio once Weis is fired. Out of the ND commits he is Number 1 on their board followed closely by Hendrix. They really want a RB in this class.

I would expect Rees to be the #1 ND recruit that we would be after.
