The only reason that I care about this guy is that he may help us hold on to A.J. Johnson for next year. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't really lose sleep over him.

I agree with LV...in fact I would go as far to say there should be an asterik next to the 2010 championship game that states that mccoy was injured and that drastically changed the course of the game...

The best team won the game.

Would have been more interesting if McCoy doesn't get hurt, but that's part of it.

So I guess the 1998 national championship by Tennessee doesn't count since flordia state's first-string QB (Weinke, I think) wasn't playing? Of course, it counts!! Sucks McCoy got hurt! But don't deduct Bama for taking advantage of it. Dang, that hurts to say, but darn, UT doesn't have a dog in this fight at the current moment! Hopefully by 2011!!

I agree.

But also, the FSU comparison is not really legit.

The FSU QB had played before, and prepared for a month for UT, as the starting QB.

Texas FR. QB, did not have the same advantage.

Matters little, the best team, for most of the year won.

The arguement was whether or not Texas was at full strength. Obviously, they weren't. And obviously, Florida state wasn't either in 1998. I don't care if the backup had a month to practice. He was a backup for a reason, meaning FSU was better with the first string than the second. I just can't believe UT fans went down that route with the similarities between the two games.

This bs debate is ridiculous... Bama won the national championship... if the script was flipped and Tennessee would have been in Bama's situation...everyone would be talking about how well Gilbert played in the second half.... Take this bs out to the woodshed...or kick all the bama fans out (except for tidewarrior), either way....

No doubt! Injuries are just a part of the game. Can't blame a team for taking advantage of it. I HATE BAMA, and can't believe i'm defending them against jealous UT fans. But come on guys?????? If UT was in the same situation as Bama, you wouldn't be discounting the win any less. And anybody doing so would be blasphemous.

Just give Bama their due and hope UT whoops their butt next year!

Well, the Rooster played against UF and was good enough to beat them. He played and beat a top SEC team.

Gilbert played none, wasn't planning on playing, and as a freshman suddenly found himself in the NC game.

Surely you can discern the difference.

I agree, no need to complain about the injuries. They are part of the game.

Hats off to Bama, and enjoy the Wallmark tour.

OK, yes, there is a slight difference between the two. However, neither Texas nor Florida state were at 100 percent. Truly a pointless argument with Bama fans.

OMG! Ingram didn't play a lot of the second either. He was only the heisman trophy winner, but he was on Bama so he's worthless, LMAO. Injuries HAPPEN!! Bama took advantage. And that's just the bottom line. Get over it UT fans!! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee. I'm kind of happy Bama did win. That way when we do beat them, it'll make it that much sweeter!!

Yes. This staff is going after athletes in general. We all saw our lack of depth and athletes all season long on special teams. So we would definitely take Blake. I say bring him on...and I will defer to what the staff thinks about who to offer and how to engage recruits. They seem to have a knack for it...lol
