'10 GA ATH Blake Sims

Got to love how Crimson Boy brought up Sims' quote about wanting to play WR for Saban (after the Tennessee staff moved him their for their own camp), which took place months after Sims pledged to Alabama as a then-quarterback.

Coaches bend the truth with recruits everyday. Saban just gets caught lying more often than most.

I'm not arguing with you. It just looks like he isn't going to be at Bama on NSD. But you did bring up an interesting scenario. If he decommits, you all wil have another spot for a WR and imo Ambles would be a Tide lock...

nope...:)

I fail to see where Nick Saban lied here. Maybe just your jealousy running wild. BTW kitten has lied more in public than Saban has. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.:good!:

How has kiffin lied in the public? saying stuff wrong on purpose is not lieing.

"I will not coach at the University of Alabama" Saban started it even before he got there!

Talk about calling the kettle black. Saban when asked prior to the Dolphins season was over said he would not consider coaching at UA. If I remember correct we started pursuing R Rodriguez. Thank goodness he went to Michigan. Again when Saban was asked he said no, but once he got permission from the Dolphins he started to talk to UA. Yes we got him and he still got paid. Rmember he also didn't get fired.

Now Kiffin got fired because of numerous violations of team and NFL policies. Several of those violations supposedly included not being truthful, which means he lied. He also did not have permission to speak to other organizations about coaching and leaving the Raiders. Hence both of these were part of his firing and why he did not get paid. Which lead to him sueing the Raiders. Whether all the allegations are true or not he got fired for them.

The fact is both coaches are considered high profile for whatever reason. So with it comes speculation of maybe some wrong doing here or there whether it is true or not. Mainly based on the fact that so many opposing fans just want to believe the only reason for their success is because they are doing something wrong. Saban has proven he can win at the college level, but not a the Pro level. He also has had no major violations credited to his watch, other than some game wins being vacated for something prior to his arrival. Kiffin has been a part of a proven successful college program, but like Saban was unsuccessful in the Pros. Not to mention dealing with Al Davis is no picnic and so I have some sympathy for Kiffin. Kiffin now has the chance to show he can be a great head coach at UT.

I have no issue with Kiffin or any other coach in the SEC. The fact is with the exception of some coaches, like B Davis, Pete Carrol, Mack Brown, B Stoops, and a few others we have the best coaches in the country. So it makes our games that much better because anything can happen every game. There is no guarantees when it comes to conference games. Who cares what Saban said prior coming to UA, because if that really ruffles your feathers this might be the wrong conference for you to support. Not to mention if that is the worst thing he ever does great. Just who cares what happen to Kiffin while at the Raiders, because Al Davis deserves whatever he gets.

TW, unlike most in here I don't have a deep hatred for Saban. I'm not particularly a fan, but I respect the hell out of him as a coach. That said, let's not get in semantics about what happened with him lying about leaving the Dolphins. In an interview with ESPN after he took the job at Alabama, he flat out stated the reason he lied to the media is because he knew if he didn't just make it look like there was no chance at all he'd lose his team (The Dolphins).

With that being said, I didn't necessarily disagree with the way he handled it. I agreed with the logic in his explanation and I probably would have done the same thing. When it comes to the pros, it is all business when dealing with your personnel. However, it is completely different in college, as I feel that half the job is preparing men for life in general. College coaches play such an instrumental part of their players' lives.

If we want to start talking scum when it comes to you as a person, lets talk Bobby Petrino. He is a coward.

EDIT: Just my .02. Back to Blake Sims whenever, though. Now I do have one question...... is the rumor that Blake Sims is interested in UT and that's why he is sort of helping us out by bringing AJ with him for his unofficial?

Before Bama fans get on here and crow about the virtues of St. Nick, call Baton Rouge and see if you can get a character reference on him.

When it comes to Kiffin vs. Al Davis, I believe Kiffin any day. In fact, Al Davis is the last guy I would want a character reference from.

But when you have a reputation for cheating then I can see why Bama fans have all kinds of respect for Al Davis.

tncrimsonman i hate to tell you but I'd rather have any of our 3 WR commits over Blake Sims. No jealousy here, I only want him to piss you off

Where did I say I had respect for Al Davis. I think he is the reason for the demise of the Raiders. Also what character reference are you refering to in Baton Rouge. Unhappy fans that he left them and eventually came to UA. Sorry that bursted their bubble. That bares very little merit for a character reference, but maybe it works for some people.

It is rumored that Sims has canceled his trip to UT tomorrow. A.J. Johnson will still be here. He has found another ride...

Fishy?

Coaches like Urban and Nicky have the squads and recruiting classes to get ballsy enough to give recruits garbage warnings about taking visits to their rivals. I think it really just shows their a-hole personalities/ God-complexes and their illogical desires to control everything around them. Bad news for them is Kif is giving these kids a legit opportunity to be part of something great, which must seem even better after dealing with those @ss clowns.

Eh - I would never turn away a guy like him - but I think we can land someone else definitely that's as good or better.
