'10 GA ATH Da'Rick Rogers

And still... how stupid is it to mock a good recruit for saying he liked something about the school?

I know how difficult engineering programs are first hand. I also know that there are guys who make it through hard work that aren't as intelligent or academically accomplished as smarter guys who fall out. You have no idea how smart or capable the kid is... but you're letting pretty much everyone know how smart you guys are by mocking him publicly when he's considering playing for UT.

Very classy post, and I agree with every word of it. Its is complete crap to post ANYTHING negative on these kids that are considering playing here. Especially if you consider yourself a Vol fan!

You guys want to defend these kids now, but once they go to another school and it's a barrage of curse words and death threats on Saturdays. Get off your high horse.

You can't be talking to me. The worst I can recall saying about a kid for committing elsewhere is that it was a stupid decision because of playing time or some other factor.

I'm not happy about Ambles' apparent decision. I think it is stupid for him to a) trust Kiffin and b) go all the way across the country to diminish his chances of being "the" star WR or at a minimum to share touches with Woods and Prater. But it is his decision.

Where did he say this? Besides the Hooker quote (who probably had his wires crossed with Martaze Jackson who specifically said he wants to be an EE).

Thats where the jokes are from for me, at least.

TIFWIW but I'm starting to hear rumblings about a Rogers/Nance package deal to UT after the visit this weekend... may be Germans, but we'll see...

That's when you say "prove it jacka$$"

Actually I think me and my buddies did say that...but he wasn't "that drunk."

Ahhh....memories. I swear I wish I could go back to those days sometimes.

Anyway...so Da'Rick & Nash coming to UT?!?!?

Whaaa???

I roomed with one of the smartest persons I've ever come in contact with while I was @ UT ('01-'04). He was an Aerospace Engineering major and even though he graduated with an astronomical GPA (both his BS & MS), he said it was the hardest he's ever had to work, study, etc.

True story: We were on the roof of Greeve one day discussing how fast we would have to run to jump to the adjacent building's roof (we were elbow deep in two cases of brew, so I digress)--the guy wips out his notebook and calculates how fast you needed to be running and at which angle you would need to jump.

---to this day its the dumbest I've ever felt.

Sorry to hijack the thread here but I felt the need to defend my alma mater.

Engineering and Logistics are the two hardest degrees you can earn at UT. You're a moron if you don't think Engineering is hard.

I'm sorry again guys.. I'm not that big of a jerk. Didn't mean to make the thread into this. I will try to delete my post from earlier. We're all Tennessee family here. I was in my "elitist" mode while writing that. People at Georgia Tech think they're smarter than anyone in the southeast. Poor sense of judgement.

B.S. Biomedical Engineering 04'...

M.S. Mechanical Engineering 05'...

Both from UTK...and my wife would tell you I'm dumber than a sack full of hammers :)

haha - I wonder if they took Da'Rick into Estabrook to show him the "engineering building". I think I'd be scared to walk to fast or jump up and down in that building - impressed wasn't exactly what I was thinking - maybe the plan. But they're building a new engineering building I believe so they probably showed him that.

Nope...sorry...I probably know him though

You probably do. I think his BS & MS degrees were '04 & '05 too.

That's just funny b/c his wife would say the same thing. To be more specific, I mean "book smart." :D

Rogers could be the second D named person to use NFL money made from starring at UT into an Engineering firm. I think he will more likely end up in Child and Family Studies or Urban Studies.
