'10 GA ATH Da'Rick Rogers

I wouldnt get your hopes up guys. You just setting yourself up for disappointment. Yes, I want this guy as much as anyone, but i really dont see us turning him.

The key in DR and NN recruitment, is if we get an in-home visit with them after CMR does. If that happens, this is something really to be paying attention too.

I know for certain that there is a very good chance we land this guy. But, as I stated in another post, he is getting pressured heavily by the locals around here to stick with UGA. In my opinion it's all in the hands of Nash's decision. If Nash comes Da-Rick comes.

I honestly never thought that he would visit either. I think if CDD can have another in home visit before NSD Than I will feel really good about our chances.IMHO.

From what I hear down here, Calhoun High School is coach central the next few days. CDD & a UGA coach today and CMR tomorrow. People are starting to get a little ill will toward Nash's dad it appears.

Forget Ambles, I'll take Da'Rick any day over him

First off I do think that Ambles may be gone, and secondly why do you say you would take Da'Rick over him anyday. I think we need Ambles more than Da'rick. First off I am not sure that there is a huge difference between Da'rick and what we already have. Hunter, Milton, and Meline are all big recievers with good or great speed, and can jump as well as Da'rick. But, Ambles is the most polished reciever in this years class and runs routes better than anyone in this class, which the others need work on. If it were up to me, which it isn't, I would take Ambles, the kid just knows how to get open.

I apologize if this link has already been posted,

Da’Rick Rogers ’still committed’ to UGA but serious about Vols | AJC College Sports Recruiting

but I was reading some of the comments from the UGA fans and quite honestly I'm shocked at how many have simply turned their backs on Rogers for taking the visit to Knoxville. They've gone as far as saying you don't deserve to play at UGA if you are considering Tennessee.

Kind of reminds me of how some folks are acting on here about Ambles....:ermm:

Another thing to consider is Nash's father is a huge factor in Da-Ricks decision. UGA never offered Nash. You know that is in the back of his mind.

Any chance that UGA offers Nash just to get Da'rick?

I don't think so. They already have one QB, and they're running out of room, and have other needs to fill. I doubt they do that. IF they do, then that means they are REALLY scared. And if so, that's great, because it means they have two burn two scholarships for one players, and it leaves a player out to dry for them.

Just wondering, I would think that if the rumors are indeed true that Rogers is seriously considering UT for the package deal with Nash, that UGA will see the writing on the wall and do something to try and keep Rogers. If they see that the reason that Rogers wants to go to UT is because of the package deal, then I would assume that UGA would match that to keep him.

Why not? It happens all the time. You might be right, but the kid is staying quiet for a reason. He had not visited any other schools and had nothing to compare UGA to. He does now.

I think it's really a matter of giving up someone you want or someone you need. Georgia has other positions they need, but if they really feel like they NEED to keep Rogers then they'll offer Nash, and forget a player they have a NEED for. We have needs for LB's, DB's and OLs, but I don't think that taking Nance hurts us as much as it would them. We still have room in the class.

Matthew Sullivan does have a good point. Folks are getting so worked up over internet rumors, facebook postings and "friend of a friend" word of mouth, that when the likely event that he choses to stay with the school he has been committed to for a loooong time, then there will be much gnashing of the teeth and "woe is us" posts about how we screwed up his recruitment.

Here is what it seems. We have a shot. I believe a small one, but that is all you can ask. If he comes, I would love it because it would send a shock to the UGA fanbase. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

JMO.

If Da-Rick takes another visit it will be to Louisville with Nash.

That would make sense. Given the fact that he is currently committed to the Commodes, Nance's academic record will probably pass muster with USC's admission standards, but he is not likely to see playing time behind Barclay, Scroggins and all of their other talented backup quarterbacks.

The key for us is if we can get a in-home visit. IF we can get one, then we are def in this, but if we dont then he is a dawg IMO.

Someone over at the ESPN boards aparently works in the AD and said that NN and DR both "wanted to commit" after their visit this passed weekend but NN's father stopped them and told them to take a while and think it over. Hard to believe they were ready to switch commitments right away during the visit, but does create a lot of speculation.
