'10 GA ATH Da'Rick Rogers

Not sure, by they way the father talked, that anyone is getting an in home visit. Didn't CDD visit the school last week? May be another recruit I'm thinking about.

In a article i read, Da'Rick said that CMR was coming for a inhome this week. Brent is digging to see if we are going to get one too.

Someone over at the ESPN boards aparently works in the AD and said that NN and DR both "wanted to commit" after their visit this passed weekend but NN's father stopped them and told them to take a while and think it over. Hard to believe they were ready to switch commitments right away during the visit, but does create a lot of speculation.

Lets only hope that is true. It would make sense too. Please let this be true.

im wondering where the dad is leaning on this, sounds like he will be the major influence on the decision.

From what it sounded like to me, he seems like he is a normal, responsible parent and doesn't want these boys to make a rash decision. I'd like to think I would do the same placed in that situation with my kids. Also, Tennessee stands a great chance with these boys if this situation is indeed the case. I'd put Tennessee up against any school in the nation after a visit.

I would think he would be thrilled if his son and Rogers had the opportunity to play together in college at an SEC school.

Heck, give the dad credit. My guess is that he realizes that emotion blocks out logic and that when these young recruits make decisions based on emotion that they have a greater chance of de-committing later or
regretting it later. An obvious difference between their situation and so many of these kids who don't have a strong parent looking out for their best interest. A perfect example is Kiffin a.k.a. "The Prostitute" who thrives on getting these kids and their families all jacked up past the point of doing what's best for them and to just "Do it!" because his plan is higher octane emotionally and financially.

Per Stephen Hargis: Coach Jim Chaney Last week(tuesday) spent 5 hrs with Both Nance and Rodgers going over playbooks and formations and what not....take it for what it's worth. all we can do is hope...Coach Chaney is real High on Nance.

Matthew Sullivan does have a good point. Folks are getting so worked up over internet rumors, facebook postings and "friend of a friend" word of mouth, that when the likely event that he choses to stay with the school he has been committed to for a loooong time, then there will be much gnashing of the teeth and "woe is us" posts about how we screwed up his recruitment.

Here is what it seems. We have a shot. I believe a small one, but that is all you can ask. If he comes, I would love it because it would send a shock to the UGA fanbase. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

JMO.

+1

As much as I like the idea of adding another QB and a potential game-changer like Rogers, at some point we have to get some OL, not saying we shouldn't go after Nance and Rogers, by all means go get the best players you can get...just saying.

It sounds like the AJC is just trying to make GA fans not freak out. Da'Rick is definitely considering us. I think now that he knows what else is out there he will be looking around. And not only that, how can he meet Charlie Baggett and not come away impressed?!?! Dude is a legend.
