"I've had a chance to speak with coach Kiffin and his dad, and that's really what sealed it for me, the coaches they have up there. They have a direct link to the NFL there and that's everybody's dream. Getting a good education is important for sure, but with that staff the NFL connections are strong too."

Also says he doesn't care where he plays, whatever gets him on the field.

Will be here for camp.

First:

“Relentless. Pain. Fire,” Tennessee’s newest commitment said when asked to describe his game. “Trying to go kill somebody every play.”

And:

“I’m happy for anybody to have success,” Copeland said. “But if you’re in my position in front of me, I’m going to try to take it. I’m going to bring it to the table.”

and let's not overlook:

“I’m going to work hard at everything else I do: my relentlessness, getting to the ball, trying to knock someone’s head off.”

All day, baby... all day! :dance2:

Thank you coach O. I love everything that I have heard so far. A 4.6 40 as a jr is beastly for a guy his size.

Thats even better IMO. CLT was supposed to be a beast at recruiting, glad to see its finally taking effect.

I love this guy allready... My kind of player.. One thing I noticed on the video, he gets his hands on someone and they go down.. Looks like he's really strong.

I wonder if Jacques Smith had any influence on this recruit? Great pick-up by the staff...i'm sure it was a group effort :)

I absolutely love how he never quits on a play. I saw numerous times where he made the tackle after trailing way behind the play.

I want to see him against more aggressive linemen. And would like to see him get off the line faster. But he looks like a great pick up.

Unless he has a phenomenal Senior year, I don't see him being a 5 star.

Did anyone else notice the illegal Twitter tweet on the main home page from LaneKiffinUT? If you follow the link, the tweet has been removed, but I guess it is still cached in our sight.

It's a beautiful day in Knoxville, TN today. I was so excited to hear that J.C. Copeland committed to play for the Vols today.

If I see this correctly, this would appear to be a secondary violation since he hasn't signed his National Letter of Intent (a verbal commitment doesn't appear to give a green light to mention a name)...but it's kind of silly because you know that he doesn't post those...someone in the AD does it....but since it is presented by the university as actually being him, I would think it could be a problem if it hadn't been removed or if there is a more official record of it....Someone is a bonehead in the athletic department (though this type of stuff rarely gets anyone in any kind of real trouble).

You sure that name is actually affiliated with the University?

The guy brings it. I love his closing speed. Looking at his film as a QB looks down the field to pass, BOOM! He closes like a freaking monster.

Quote from Copeland:

I sat down with my coach and he asked me who had offered me so far, when I told him, he said 'Well, I don't think Georgia and Florida are going to offer, and Tennessee is the best offer you've got. I think you should take it while they still have room.'

Anyone worried about the reverse-Nuke if Florida or Georgia get involved?
