I also live in LaGrange and my little brother played OL for LaGrange High. He was a senior when Copeland was a sophomore and contained Copeland the entire game. Not sure if that means much, because I really do think Copeland will be good. But yeah, there are a ton of LHS and Troup players that go to the next level next level....Trey Blackmon (Auburn), Sam Olujubutu (Arky), Blake Mitchell (S Carolina), Bruce Thornton (UGA and NFL), Walt Harris (49ers), Braxton Kelley (Kentucky) Wesley Woodyard (Kentucky), Skyler Thornton (played at Florida), Dexter Murphy (three year starter at Auburn) Demetri Merritt (Kentucky) Qua Huzzie (Kentucky) Demoro Ford (Kentucky) and a whole slew of others who's names escape me at this point. LaGrange High has a few in the NFL right now and in the past as well. Then there's former granger baseball player Mike Cameron in the MLB. This area really does produce serious talent. Most of them being from LaGrange High School of course.
“J.C. had a really big scrimmage last week, his performance was unbelievable,” Jeter explained. “He had 11 tackles for losses including several sacks. He was definitely on top of his game. He even had a sack for a safety.”
I have become friends with the quarterback [Tyler Bray] from California. I have talked to him a couple of times. The coaches told me they are going to have the No. 1 class in the nation.
Copeland is turning into a big boy. He had 7 tackles last night facing double and triple teams all night."I was happy about that," Copeland stated when asked for his thoughts on the recent commitments from both Willis and Miller. "I love it..We are going to have a lot of success as a group. It's just a bunch of good guys that will push each other to get better and be a great unit."
At this point a year ago, Copeland weighed 230 pounds, but 365 days certainly does make a difference. Copeland stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 263 pounds thanks for a new way of eating.
"It's been the weight room and eating right," Copeland said. "I've been on a eating schedule that consists of fish, peanut butter and jelly, potatoes, vegetables and fruit."
Copeland plans on attending a Vols game for the first time in November.
