Quote from Copeland:

Anyone worried about the reverse-Nuke if Florida or Georgia get involved?

Wouldn't this be more like a reverse-Teague? Anyway...it's a possibility...you can't like to hear him say that as a Vol fan. It doesn't mean that he would take their offer...but it would obviously give him something to think about....

You sure that name is actually affiliated with the University?

It will be self-reported to the NCAA according to Mike Hamilton.....(per Chris Lowe)...

Tennessee plans to self-report another NCAA secondary violation - ESPN

And...our suspicions were proven correct as well, it was someone in the athletic department who was posting the information (and it was the poor persons first day on the job!!). Perhaps I will back off on the "bone-head" comment considering it was a first day on the job mistake....man, imagine that, racking up a secondary violation on your first day!

Edit: Oops...I missed the entire thread on this..my bad :)

My question is why are they not offering?

I'm not familiar with the DL recruiting situation at either school, but either they didn't evaluate him as high as us or they don't want any more 2010 DL commits. If it's the former, I trust Orgeron's DL evaluations over Georgia's and Florida's staffs combined.

Agreed.

He said that Georgia told him that he was too short.

I don't really consider 6-2 as being short. Maybe his numbers are padded and he is really more like 6-0. Who cares. If Coach O likes him, then I'm not worried.

There will be some players who switch the UT hat for UF hat in 2010. Think of it as a show of respect from a 2 time National Champion worried about his 5-7 rival that he beat by 63 points in the last two years.

Being the team UF keeps showing their concern about is a great thing for UT football. They're doing a great job at helping us regain national interest.

Copeland, a high school defensive end, looks like he's headed one spot closer to the middle of the line at the next level. He showed impressive burst off the ball when working at tackle all day long.

According to TOS, he will have to gain some 20 lbs or so to become a legit prospect at DT.

Scout.com: Dawg-ed pursuit

If you have a Scout subscription, that may just be the best thing Randy Moore's ever written.

Copeland's Troup County coach had great things to say about Copeland and the new Tennessee staff.

Apparently after seeing Copeland pledge for a resurgent Vols attack, the pups may be trying to bring him back into the fold, but it would seem the door's already been closed on an Athens journey.

Was in Alaska when the news hit ESPN about this kid. I live in LaGrange and he is really a good find....Look up all the SEC players who have come out of this area...Impressive....Glad he is going to be a Vol. This is a real classy choice.:dance2:

I also live in LaGrange and my little brother played OL for LaGrange High. He was a senior when Copeland was a sophomore and contained Copeland the entire game. Not sure if that means much, because I really do think Copeland will be good. But yeah, there are a ton of LHS and Troup players that go to the next level next level....Trey Blackmon (Auburn), Sam Olujubutu (Arky), Blake Mitchell (S Carolina), Bruce Thornton (UGA and NFL), Walt Harris (49ers), Braxton Kelley (Kentucky) Wesley Woodyard (Kentucky), Skyler Thornton (played at Florida), Dexter Murphy (three year starter at Auburn) Demetri Merritt (Kentucky) Qua Huzzie (Kentucky) Demoro Ford (Kentucky) and a whole slew of others who's names escape me at this point. LaGrange High has a few in the NFL right now and in the past as well. Then there's former granger baseball player Mike Cameron in the MLB. This area really does produce serious talent. Most of them being from LaGrange High School of course.

From all the Tennessee plates, decals etc I see on the streets of LaGrange we could start our one club here...Maybe I will do that in my spare time.
