'10 GA RB Mack Brown

It seems like everyone is listening except his mom....I would think if someone is pursuing u as hard as we are that you would at least want to see the campus for a free visit and see what everyone is talking about whether you really want to come here or not...It is a big decision that you should look at every opportunity which is why I like Kiffin's style of letting our commits visit other schools because he wants players that have no doubt in their mind that TN is the place for them and shows no fear

One released on volquest saying all kinds of good stuff..then one released on gatorbait de-bunking all that good stuff. I hate recruiting

Billy G will do in home visit later today and he's set his official visit for Dec 12. Not sure if he's still going to be an EE but at one time he talked about it.

He is not going to be an EE...
Read on an UF board that Meyer plans on staying behind in Atl for a few days after the SECCG to make visit to some of the area elite targets(Brown, Smith, Whitaker, Telvin Smith) any substance or just rumor?

Sounds like a good idea to me...I hope we are putting the full court press on Garrison Smith.

do we need to hook him up with the Atlanta area Massengill rep so he can be sure he's covered?

Smith and Rogers would be huge turns I think the staff is going hard after UGA targets at this point with the turnover on of the staff. IMO some of the FSU targets will become harder to pull in the coming weeks when Jimbo fills his staff.

UT could have a huge advantage recruiting-wise in about a week. UGA is cleaning house on D which means there best recruiter is gone. FSU is going through the same thing. UF may be about to lose their DC and one of their best recruiters as well. Then again, FSU could name their new DC and Strong could stay, but I'm liking our position right now.

We may lose our DC but Urban has know this day was coming for awhile so if you have inside info on UF recruiting you know that Strong hasn't been the main recruiter of any of the top targets except for Luc and that because of their relationship. Kids may have looked foward to playing for Strong but as a recruiter he hasn't been on the trail much this season.

Smith is all Georgia. He is not concerned about the staff turnover.

From UGAsports.com-
"Garrison Smith:"Yeah it affected me, it means I'm back to the Ivey league schools now. I'm just playing, I'm still committed to Georgia. Coach Richt has been at UGA for a long time, and he's going to make the best decision for the team."

UF will most likely promote from within the staff so we wouldn't be w/o a DC for very long. Also as HG said, Strong has not been the main recruiter on any prospect besides Luc. Obviously it won't help UF on the recruiting trail this cycle, but I expect minimal damage to the core of our class and the core of our remaining leans.

I am honestly curious here because I know nothing about your staff other than the coordinators. If/when Strong leaves and you think you could promote from within, who would be the likely choice?

This is a good question and I never thought about it. What names are being floated around if Strong does leave?

DL Coach Dan McCarney is my first guess and most likely candidate IMO...

Followed by S/Assistant DC coach Chuck Heater...

I will be surprised if one of those two isn't the next DC.

yeah I'm hearing that Heater may go with Strong as his DC but if not they may get promoted to Co-DC like a few years back but the only outside option may come in Greg Madison if the Ravens can him

It'd be very interesting if Strong takes Heater with him because I could see McCarney leaving in a year or two to be a HC again. Then again, I'm sure Meyer will have no problem finding a new assistant or two.

I hope Mack watched the SECCG closely. Florida running backs got 3 carries combined all game.

Meyer is probably selling Mack that he will have to give him carries cause Teblow will be gone and Brantley cant run the ball like Timmy.

The offensive play calling in this game was pretty pathetic. We were completely unbalanced throwing vs passing and Alabama dominated the entire game. As bad as the offense was, the defense was worse.

I honestly think that with Brantley as QB next year we will be a better, and less predictable, offense.

I don't think Mack Brown will be seeing all that much of the field though next year with Moody, Demps, Rainey, and Gillislee all coming back, unless he comes in and is a complete stud.
