Florida was never the same without Harvin. I feel like most that Florida's reign as #1 powerhouse is over. They will still be a consistent top 10 team, but players like Harvin, Tebow, etc. don't come around forever, I don't care how many 5-stars you have. It seems like Bama has a couple of those young game breakers right now (Richardson, Ingram), I feel that Florida won't be able to match Bama as long as Saban is there. I also hope we are saying this about Tennessee once Lane and crew get all of their "guys" after a couple classes. I feel that Saban, Kiffin, possibly Petrino will outclass Meyer as we have seen this year. You could make an argument that all of Florida's starting defense will play in the NFL, plus you have the unstable Tebow, this team was unreal talent wise and didn't get it done.

I agree that we will be a consistent Top-10 team and I agree that we won't win 2 of every 3 National Titles but come on....to say that Meyer will never beat Alabama again is insane. To say that Meyer is in over his head as a head coach against Saban, Kiffin, and Petrino is insane. It really is.

It really isn't at all. I am not saying Meyer will never beat Bama (with Saban) again but if he didn't it wouldn't suprise me. There are a couple new kids on the block that Meyer has to compete with. He has had better players than anyone in the SEC and they really should have lost to Oklahoma in the title game. I feel that when Saban gets all his players, which he had this year, Meyer wont come close to him. I also feel there is the potential when Kiffin gets all his players, 2 to 3 years, that Meyer will really struggle. Thus far he has had the luxury of having better players than everyone, when the talent gap tightens, or god forbid they don't have the best players, watch out. I don't think Urban is on the same level as some of these ex-NFL guys. Just one mans opinion. I wouldn't bank on Meyer always having Tebow's or Harvin's I don't care how many 5-stars you recruit, these players are rare.

I think the biggest problem is that everyone thinks that Florida has unreal talent that the SEC has never seen before. Florida is a very talented team but Florida will also continue to be a very talented team. 5-stars and All-Americans commit to UF every year. Florida will likely have a #1 or #2 class this year alone. We already have a Top-50 kid for 2011 in Pop Saunders. Meyer's recruiting won't go away.

If you think that Florida is now going to be a 7-5/8-4 type of team from here on out, you are sadly mistaken. Meyer is arguably the best coach in all of college football. His work at BGSU, Utah, and Florida proves that. No matter how much you want to believe it, we are not going to just all of a sudden fade into an average program.

UF will still get players, and will still have good teams.

But, when CLK said that 'UF had the best players, and Bama had the best coaches." He was wrong, Bama has better players as well, and thats not all recruiting.

Genetic mutant, you cannot continue to bend my words to help your argument. I have never said they will be a 7-5 type of team, I said they will be top 10 but not as elite has they been the last couple years. I also said they will continue to sign 5-stars, etc. but that doesn't mean they will have guys like Tebow and Harvin guys like that come around every blue moon and I think Meyer and gator fans have been spoiled. There is always a trend in college where certain coaches or programs own another for a period of time. I feel that is Florida and Alabama now. Assuming Saban stays, to take a page out of Pedro Martinez, I feel that 6 years from now Meyer will have to tip his hat and call Saban, and hopefully Kiffin, his daddy.

Look at this year with Florida, all 11 starters on their defense have a legit shot to play in the NFL, plus they have the proclaimed greatest college football player of all time with Tebow, and all their big shot 5-star athletes, and they win by 10 at home to Tennessee. A team with a new coach, walk-on guard, center and middle linebacker and, at the time, a non- existent quarterback. Give me a break. Arkansas should have beat them at home with a brand new coach (who will outclass Meyer). Finally, Alabama just crushed them in the SECCG. I am sorry to say random Gator fan but I think your guy's run is over.

Dude Tide needed to block two fg to even stay perfect against this same UT team and almost lost to Aubbie with a new coach. UF lost against a team the beat last yr in this same game and last I looked Meyer won a title in 2006 without Tebow as the starting Qb or Harvin so he been without before. You saying that Saban will own Meyer is like saying Stoops is a better coach than Mack Brown or Harbaugh is better than Pete its too early to tell but Meyer won two titles in 4 years so until Saban wins that title(bama) Meyer is still the better coach and I guarantee he won't allow UF to lay down in the bowl game like Bama did last year. Congrats to Saban and bama they won this round.

lol they've only met twice so lets break down the numbers Meyer 83-17 with three BCS bowl wins including two National Titles (5-1 overall bowlgames ) Saban 105-50-1 with a 2003 National Title 2-1 BCS games(3-7 overall bowl games). Better coach?

I see what the Gator fans are saying but I also think Saban is better. Meyer is very gimicky but we'll see what happens next year. I think that we'll see who the better coach is after Tebow is gone. Meyer will either prove it or he'll flop.
