VolsFanRJ, Prater and Rogers are great athletes. I just think in my opinion Ambles is the better overall football player and the most ready to contribute to the team early. I think he played better than Prater in the All-Star game besides that drop.. Also does it make you mad to think that we had a great shot to get all of your "Top 3" WR's (Ambles,Prater, Rogers) before Kiffin left?

Ambles is definitely in the top 3 and will very likely contribute next year wherever he goes. However, he might never make it through the year either. He has been said to have some discipline and attitude issues. Kyle Prater didn't disappoint during the week of the Army AA game either, so I'm not ready to say Ambles is actually better. I'm not sure we were ever really in it for Prater anyways. We might still land Rogers and Ambles which would be great, or we might not land either of them. One thing about it, the recent addition of Justin Hunter takes the sting out of things no matter how they turn out. Hunter was a great get.

I completely agree RJ. I am excited about the potential of Hunter, seems like a great athlete..However, if I'm not mistaken Prater was close to visiting us after Carrol left USC and when we still had Kiffin at coach. Ambles was completely in the fold with Kiffin, and the rumor of Nance and Rogers visiting was still around..that being said I doubt we would have pulled off all 3, but with Kiffin it was a possibility.

I believe we would have gotten a visit out of Prater, you are correct. I just don't know how much we were really in play for him. It is possible though. As far as Nash and Rogers, I have my doubts they would have ever visited with Kiffin still here. I think this was more of a Coach Dooley doing, but I could be wrong.

Yeah I think you are correct. I believe Chaney really was high on Nance, but Kiffin wasn't as enamored with him so it really never went anywhere..Luckily Coach Dooley got the talks back up with him and Rogers..
Back to Ambles though..I think him and Rogers is still somewhat of a possibility, and with us not having a real 5 Star WR (not counting the O'Neal bust) since Meachem in '03, I would be ecstatic with two 5 Star recievers

I obviously hope he is right too. It would be hard to turn down a 5 Star with as much talent as he has. He really impressed me during the All Star game. I know it isn't looking good regarding him playing for us, but I just can't see him at USC. I think the distance will be a factor there...When he was commited to us he recruited hard for UT just as Corey Miller did so I find it hard to believe that we are completely out of it now..

does anyone know if corey miller is still in contact with him and in his ear? miller is a firecracker and seemed to be really popular at the AA game

I'm ambivalent at this point with MA.

If he was everything to our class, and we were his leader, I'm not sure I'd feel any more comfortable with this guy. He seems to be all over the map.

I used to want him badly, and think he wanted us. Now he seems like a future potentially less talented TO.
