Do you guys have ANY idea what the "Tampa Cover 2" even is?? Do you realize what kind of athletes it takes to run it? The middle linebacker has to be a certain type of athlete and the corners have to have a certain amount of "intelligence". We currently don't have the crew to run it successfully. This isn't XBox.

So you are saying Fulmer did not recruit very good athletes, and the ones he did are stupid.

I'm saying that they are NOT geared to run the Tampa 2 and will struggle mightily if they run it and it alone. Mark my words, they will have to adjust seriously.

I think I will trust Monte's ability to adjust, I think he has the resume to back that up.

I don't think you know half what you think you know, and now I question whether you are even a fan of the Vols. you may not like Kiffin, and that's your choice, but now you are also throwing the players under the bus by implying they don't have the talent or the intelligence to adopt, players that were part of a top ten defense last year. And you are throwing Monte under the bus by implying he is smart enough to run a successful defense against far more complicated offenses in the NFL, but not smart enough to adopt his system to match his talent.

If fulmer is all you really care about, I am sure he will welcome you as a fan of his current team...wait a minute...

Our personnel is already in place to make the system work.

Tampa 2 requirements:

Big hitting safeties: check (Berry and Morley)

Fast and athletic DEs: check (Martin and Walker)

Fast MLB: check( C.Donald coached up)

Smart WLB: check (Mccoy)

Explosive DT: check (D.Williams)

We're good to go. Our D will dominate.

Donald????? Do you think he can coach up Donald who has virtually NO experience and definitely none in the Tampa 2 style of defense?

Perhaps you're right about his interest in Florida however I think it's a little early to think GA and FL will be the leaders.

Yes. And Unlike X-Box we aren't going to play. TAMPA 2 every play.

We aren't recruiting players, just to play TAMPA 2. This is the dumbest thing I have heard people say in this whole recruiting process.

You know it also takes certain types of athletes to run down the field and make special teams plays as well.

You're right Volfan trapped, but some Al Bundy types who were backup guards on their high school football teams seem to think that Monte will be bringing Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp, and Ronde Barber with him to run the "Tampa 2".

The same talent that helped us to 5-7 last year. Coach Fulmer's only mistake was recruiting kids the last few years with not much heart.
