'10 GA WR Markeith Ambles - USC Commit

Just the fact alone that he put his picture up on his twitter account wearing a UNC cap makes me believe he's not signing with them. Markeith is getting a kick out of this recruiting and I think he wants his college choice to be a shock so he is intentionally misleading people. We'll find out tomorrow at 8am....

Supposedly, Marlon Brown walked around school wearing Ohio St. gear on the day he announced, so I'm not buying UNC one bit. There's no logical reason to go there unless he really is that concerned about being the undisputed big fish, so I think it's between us and the Trojans.

I agree...he'll be a Vol tomorrow...go VOLS!

We will know where Ambles is going when the ink is dry. Anyone who says any different is either a fool or a liar... because every bit of evidence seems to be pointing to the reality that Ambles hasn't quite made his mind up and is going back and forth.

He's sort of like the ball on a roulette wheel. IMO, he'll eventually stop somewhere just because time is up more than anything else. IF... IF... he has an hour of clarity between now and tomorrow morning, he'll sign with UT. I'm not just saying that because I'm a Vol fan but also because it is his best choice.

USC is on the west coast, is coached by someone Ambles knows he can't trust, and may end up under NCAA sanctions.

UNC is one of the worst underperforming O's year in, year out anywhere in college football. They were 108th in total O last year, 102nd in passing O, and broke 200 yds passing in only one game last year (NCSU- 228). He will seldom if ever be on national tv at UNC... at UT easily half of his games will be available to a national audience on non-ppv tv. Football is and always will be an afterthought at UNC... not so at UT. I could go on but you probably get the gist. He will seriously harm his chances at the NFL by going to UNC.

When everyone here was declaring "He's gone", I told you that he wasn't until the ink is dry. We'll know for sure tomorrow.

again, take it for what it's worth:

Markeith Ambles looks to be down to North Carolina and USC. Alabama sent the scholarship papers to Henry County High School today according to his coach, but Ambles has not been in school the last two days due to the pressure of recruiting. He is now set to announce his decision live on T.V. Wednesday morning. It will be carried by FOX in Atlanta on Good Day Atlanta

Like people are saying I think Ambles is a Vol, he just likes playing the misinformation game.

I honestly think he doesn't want to share the stage with Rogers, and he regrets pulling his commit. That opened the door for the Vols to look elsewhere. i really hate it for the boy. He let his emotions take over. GOVOLS!!!

Great receivers make each other better. It prevents DC's from focusing on one player. They teammate competition makes both push themselves.

UT would have 4 or 5 legit prospects pushing each other to be their best all the time. Out of that group, Ambles is the most college ready right now IMO. He gets open and catches the ball.

Also, if he were worried about competition Bama, USC, LSU, etc would have never been in the conversation. He would have been visiting other schools with no star power at WR.

Definitely. If they are getting beat out then they should lose playing time. I think Moore and Jones will be rotated in regardless though. It's the freshman that will have to prove they deserve playing time. Jones and Moore would have to look really bad to not be in on at least half the passing plays.

Moore and Jones will get lots of reps next/this season. It will be guys like Teague that will most likely get looks at DB.

I agree with everything you said with the exception of UNC hurting his chances for the NFL. With all the media outlets these days, players like Ambles are on the radar of NFL teams now. Also, they look as much at potential as they do what they do in college. I also believe the NFL looks at what you were able to accomplish with what you had to work with. Look at all the receivers from smaller colleges that have excelled at the next level. Great post and this is JMO on the NFL thing. :good!:

With that said, I really hope that he's a VOL tomorrow.

GBO!!!!!!!

I disagree. The analysts and scouts will doubt any accomplishments he has at UNC because they'll say he played in a weak ACC conference and played against lesser talented players. Going to UNC will be NFL suicide for him.

Just MO, but I think Ambles will be either a Vol or Trojan tomorrow. No UNC.

The hat on his twitter page is just too blatantly obvious and misleading.

He'll either be signing with us, or be a K*ff*n steal on NSD.

What difference does that make?

I could have been more clear. It isn't just the media exposure at UNC. That would be bad enough... would definitely hurt his draft position IMO even if his numbers were the same.

The biggest thing is that UNC's O is terrible and has been since Davis arrived and before. In his best years, they avg'd 325 ypg (2007) and 27.7 ppg (2008)- national rankings in best years 105th and 43rd respectively. In case anyone including Ambles missed that, UNC's best year offensively under Davis resulted in a 105th total O ranking. Davis has yet to break the top half of the ACC for total O in a season.

IOW's, they are flat out just horrible. They will drag him down.

ESPN seems to have the idea also that the embarassment from the whole twitter scenario over the weekend might play a hand in driving Ambles away from UT
