He doesn't want to be here, let him go. He's an academic risk anyways. There is not one reason I can think of why we should keep him.
Ya had me goin until you said no reason to keep him. I agree he's an academic risk, has character issues, doesn't wanna be here, etc. I agree we should release him, but he can play.
While I agree with you that we should let him go, Hamilton really drew a line in the sand when he said no one who signed LOIs would be let out of them. I think some could interpret it as a double standard if we just let him walk without any reprecussions. Since that policy has been put out there and enforced with the EEs, I think we should hold KT to the same standard.Someone who doesn't want to be here, has academic problems, and is taking up a scholly that someone else who we could get that is at a need position, really just needs to be cut lose. He has shown, IMO, that he doesn't want to be here, so cut ties and move on.

Pretty much the point I was trying to make. I personally wouldn't hold anyone here that didn't want to be here. However, if my AD made that decision before I got the job I would apply that decision to all.Simms and Thompkins were the only 2 who signed LOIs cuz they were JUCO EEs. The thing that binded all the high school EEs to UT was they were on campus at midnight the day of class. They were then Vols.
Neverthelesss, your point is still valid. Hamilton made it clear that the EEs would not be released. They committed to the school, not the coach. That includes Thompkins.
