He said he was coming to a camp for us, I assume that is when they will offer him. Ya know so hopefully he will be overwhelmed and commit.

couple of questions. he seemed to crack the 60 yarder pretty easily. is that a pretty normal feat amongst kickers, not having to kick over a D-line, and seemingly taking extra steps into the kick? also, do kickers usually gain any distance when they get into a college strength program, or do they usually have what they have in high school?

60 yards is a long way for any kicker. A couple of things you need to take a look at. He took no extra steps for this FG and if you look carefully there is great height on his ball at the point of contact. This ball would have clearly made it over the line. This certainly just my opinion.

Thanks for the welcome. Funny thing we watching a you tube video where the tag line was something like a 65 or 70 yard field goal. We thought...wow...lets take a look at that. the kicker took about 8 steps and then hit a line drive that would have nailed an offensive lineman in the back of the head.....so you never know and a great question to ask.

acosta has since been a busy man camping at lsu and georgia. Georgia is in need of a placekicker more than lsu and acosta had an impressive showing with the bulldogs. One wonders how long tennessee can afford to wait on palardy if they feel like he is the best prospect.

How is UGA in need of a PK? They have the number 1 PK from 2008 recruiting class. He's a sophomore now.

They are not in need but they are not sure if they can take a pass either. They talked about a resdshirting and that way Blair Walsh would be a senior when Corey would be a redshirt freshman.

Kid looks like a natural. Cant see him ranked as the #4 kicker of this class. Other 3 must be pure freaks as well. He could get in on academic scholly alone. Thanks for the video TJ.

"Palardy committed to Tennessee and two days later, I got two handwritten letters from coach (Ed) Orgeron (UT's recruiting coordinator who generally recruits the Memphis area). So I called coach Gran and said, 'What's up?'" Acosta explained. "He was still real upbeat, said they were going to continue to recruit me and for me to just call once a week till we can call you. I'm guessing Tennessee is still in play along with all the other schools. I'm just waiting and biding my time."

Di they think Palardy is going to reconcider or are we going after two kickers? IMO, I just don't see UT taking two kickers in one year.

Since Palardy can punt, I don't see anything wrong with having another kicker recruited. If Palardy's out there punting and kicking for us eventually (post Cunningham/Lincoln) then it presents several opportunities more to get hurt than by just playing one position. Palardy shouldn't be that concerned with any continued recruitment here.
