Any word on this kid? I know we have Palardy, but I think I saw where he took an official here last weekend. Are we still recruiting him for possibly the other position Palardy doesn't want?

He was here for an unofficial last week...

Ah that makes more sense. Is he wanting to come to UT regardless? He prob. could use the hope scholarship and preferred walk-on, but I'm not sure if he would want to do that. Anyone have more knowledge on this?

Could he be our KOS and long FG guy and Palardy the normal FG / Punter? Palardy is a helluva punter too.

Can he kick longer field goals than Palardy? In the game I saw on TV, Palardy just missed a 49 yard field goal just barely wide left, but it had the length for a 60 yard field goal.

It'd be money to get him w/o giving up a scholarship. We need all the special teams help we can get.

Do we really need two kickers in this class though? Palardy seems to have the mindset he will handle all kicks.

And what if Palardy tweaks a hammy? A good back up kicker is never a bad thing. Especially if it's a walk-on.

I have no qualms with having another Brothers' Boy in the Orange and White.

Got to see Acosta in action tonight.

No FG attempts.

1 out of 3 KO went in the endzone. The 1 was right inside the goal line, while the other 2 were around the 5-7 yard line.

Punted well. Probably averaged about 40 yards per kick, but I do not remember one return as his hang time was really good. Put two of them inside the 10 yard line. He was a little slow in getting them off though.

Also, his rivals profile says he is 6'.....after seeing him in person, there is no way he is over 5'10

preferred walk-on with redshirt and shot at the scholarship left when Lincoln and Cunningham leave. It would be great to have him. Palardy KOs, punts, and long field goals, with Acosta kicking the short fgs.

What happened in the game? I never get to see my Alma Mater play...

If that is the case there are many kickers, at least in the corner chatt area that can kick further (and accurate as well) than that. Maybe an off game though. I kick down here, but I'm just a soccer guy that loved football trying to help the team out. (I'm not very good). However, there are good kickers in Tennessee, you just have to find them. Don't let rivals rate people. Steven Stanzel (graduated last year kicking at Austin Peay) is better than any kicker on Tennssee's depth chart. He just got discovered late.

MUS raced out to a 10-0 lead, but CBHS put two nice drives together and went up 14-10 just before the half.

MUS scored on their opening possession, then picked off passes on consecutive rives in the third and scored within two plays after each. They then forced a punt and scored for a 4th time in a 8 minute span.

Jonathan Brown for CBHS was a monster on both sides of the ball. Best LB prospect in Memphis this year IMO.

The 1-2 punch in the backfield of Almond and McBride was too much. Almond is a speedy scat back/WR and McBride is a bruiser with a lot of speed.

Brunetti seemed to aggravate the groin injury he had a few weeks ago. He was less mobile than normal bc of this, but he put on a nice passing display (especially the second half). He would put up monster passing numbers if he had more talent at WR (his WR are not bad, he just does not have any game breakers there unless Almond slides over from the RB position).

Can anyone explain to me what a greyshirt is?

It is when they delay an athlete's intro to college and thus delay the start of the ticking clock on their eligibility. Usually, the athlete just sits out the first semester that they would usually attend college. Sometimes it is for a whole year.

Uh...Wrong.

"Athletes may also utilize a grayshirt year in which they attend school, but cannot enroll as a full-time student, and do not receive a scholarship for that year. This means that they are an unofficial member of the team and do not participate in practices, games, or receive financial assistance from their athletic department. Typically, grayshirts occur when a player is injured right before college and requires an entire year to recuperate. Rather than waste his or her redshirt, the player can attend school as a part-time regular student and then join the team later."

I can assure you that we will not waste a scholarship just so some guy can kick short FG's but not long ones....
