Some of the time...take a look at approx. 2:40 min and 3:18 into the video and you can clearly see he pull away from black db's
YouTube - Channing Fugate Offensive Highlights 08'

There were other times that I noticed black db's, but the tape is so grainy and poor it's hard to tell with some of these kids wearing long sleeve shirts and gloves

Yes, it appears that he did pull away from one black DB who had clearly given up on the play and was jogging.

I"m not saying he sucks. I just watched the first minute of the clip and noticed that all the dudes on defense were white. So I wasn't so much impressed with said pulling away.

4.6 speed is pretty good for a fullback, though....right?

You pull up when you KNOW you can't catch 'em right? Plenty of 5* WR's with 4.6 speed. Obviously that time is not necessarily accurate or they "Play" faster than their counterparts with slightly better 40 times. This kid has a gear that is obvious...and he's running away from white an d black athletes alike. For a 230lb FB...I'll take that all day, every day.
Toney Williams is a very good example...his 40 times weren't anything to write home about, but Spring ball showed the kid CAN scoot. Kiffin even admitted the kid is deceptively fast.

Hesters stats may not have been as good, but LA football is infinitely better than KY football. Physically though, he looks to be better.

Must be a K thang. They dont have competition in Kansas either. Thats why BB will be a bust too.

So, I guess Zack Rodgers speed doesn't count, huh? seeing that he's white automatically means he's slower than his black teammates, right?
How do you know these white DB's don't run consistent 4.4 40's?

Yeah, BB was a big bust in the Army All American game too, right?
At the end of the game, they always give the MVP to the biggest busts of the game, huh?

I hope this kid can graduate HS early and be here for Spring camp. I think he has a good chance at getting some decent field time next fall, if he does. We'll see if his white boy speed is fast enough to break some runs in the SEC.

I went to HS with a white kid who was a RB in football & a state champ in the 100 on the track team. Ran a 4.4 or better. He had a good D2 college career. He ended up a school teacher.

You have never seen a naked white man running away from a campus cop during the streaking days of the 1970's, have you?

And what about Wesley Prior that played here for Majors in the '80s?

He sounds like a great pick up.....I trust our coaches completely on talent evaluations. Sounds like KY may wish they had offered.
