I don't think Clawson's system could ever work in the SEC. The spread is supposed to help simplify things so you can exploit matchups and get the ball in the hands of playmakers as often as possible. Clawson's system was missing the biggest advantage of the spread (in my eyes at least), the simplicity!
I think Monte and some other SEC DCs will start finding ways to minimize the spread's matchup advantages and it won't be as prolific an offense in the future, though it will still be viable.
CLK's offense is also founded in simplicity. But I think it has more potential in the long run compared to the spread because it does not rely on exploitation and trickery, but rather brute strength, athleticism, and solid fundamentals. Once we get the talent on campus, CLK's system will flourish.
