Muchie needs at least a year to red shirt to put on weight, throws a nice ball and has good arm.
As I've said previously, this is a guy that I think the coaches will stop pursuing after camp. He failed to impress anyone present. I repeatedly said that he would have to come out and really prove himself at this camp to garner an offer as a QB and he failed at that. I have a feeling we will look in a different direction.
Thanks, Sab. I'm a little behind on my VN reading!
Who are our top 2 or 3 QB prospects now?
Hubbs is a talent scout?
So you think Jesse is our number 1 QB we are going after?
Everyone that observed camp said that Legaux looked terrible. It's not just Brent pulling it out of his ass.
terrible? I haven't read one quote that said he looked terrible. I've actually read where some people said he needs work but had a ton of potential. We get it...you don't want this guy at quarterback. He's not at the top of my list either, but this is getting really old.
Rivals has him listed as a 4 star QB. The guy can play.
You clearly said that you expected Legaux to really show up at camp and he did not. I told you that I anticipated a poor performance and said over and over again that the coaches wouldn't pursue this guy and that he was nowhere near #3 on their board. That is what you argued with and it had nothing to do with the individuals you mentioned outside of the fact that you mistakenly went with their word and I went by what I clearly saw on film. You misjudged. It's okay. Just admit it.Coach, I am not wrong about anything I was simply repeating what the scouts said about him and that he had an offer from UT. You need to talk to the people at the UGA NIke combine, the New Orleans combine (where Munchie was MVP), CHad Simmons of Scout, and Tom Lemming about them being wrong...
Honestly, besides Hubbs, nobody else is saying he did that bad. The question of his arm strength is a joke. Hubbs pulled that one out of nowhere...
Regardless, Munchie clearly did not show UT what he did at the previous 2 combines. He might have crumbled under the pressure...
The kid is a project, but he has the potential to be a star. I'd actually like to sign him as a QB and let him know that he could get moved to another position. Give him the Star Jackson treatment.
Here's my take....
Munchie, obviously, had a bad showing. Maybe it was nerves, maybe he was pressing, maybe the receivers and he didn't communicate well. There are a lot of reason he didn't show as well as he could today. Let me say this though, there is a reason that he has an offer to play QB here, and that's like everyone else, potential. He won't start as a freshman and honestly I don't think that anyone that is recruited here will, but I would be willing to bet that things are going to be fine with him. Are there other QB's out there better, sure, but you don't complete 68% of your passes and not be somewhat accurate overall. Sounds like the the entire camp honestly, with a few exceptions, was pretty average.
There were no qbs good enough for UT that fit the system IMO, except possibly munchie.
Munchie has a very strong arm but accuracy has been a problem at times.
Munchie needs at least a year to red shirt to put on weight, throws a nice ball and has good arm.
Where has it been confirmed that he has an offer to play QB here?
