If LSU loses this kid it will really hurt them. Seastrunk and Reed are supposed to be theirs and their message boards would melt down if they lost them.

LSU is not having that bad of a season either although they do have to put up with 3rd and Chavis now.

a meltdown over Trovon Reed?:birgits_giggle:

Malzhan's offense is appealing to these guys. Auburn will be very good in the coming years. I can see a UT/AUB SEC Titile game in the coming years. LSU is slowly declining. Les Miles won his national title with Saban's recruits. Bama will be steady with the foundation they have built and there is not much left in the SEC West. Florida will lose Strong as he will be offered a HC position somewhere or he will take over if Urban leaves for South Bend. Richt's days are numbered at Georgia. We are looking pretty good going forward. Next year may be tough with all the loses on the O and D-lines and starting a Freshman qb, but this program will be at the top of the SEC East in two years.

I agree with you sir.

After watching Trovon's hightlight film I have two thoughts. 1.) this guy is electric and absolutly amazing. 2.) He fits into Auburns spread system perfectly and that's where I feel he ultimatly goes.

To anyone reliable (LV, Sab, etc.), does UT have a shot at landing this guy or is he a hope and a prayer?

The problem is Malzhan will not be at Aurburn longer than a couple years. I mean the guy is gonna be a head coach soon. I don't see him turning a job down at any BCS school just to stay at Auburn to be a cordinator.....

Why is everyone so convinced Malzahn is going to be a head coach soon? The guy hasn't even proven himself on the SEC stage yet as a coordinator. I don't get all the talk. A lot of people putting the cart before the horse if you ask me.

I am not saying he is going to get a job in the SEC. But honestly he has proven himself. Look what he did at Arkansas with Mcfadden and Jones. Sure Nutt deserves some credit but Malzhan does as well. Then he goes to Tulsa and they have one of the top rated offense's in the nation. He leaves and they more or less fall apart. Shows up at Auburn and look at the turn around they have had. To me that is pretty impressive. Especially in the short time he has been in D1.

I have seen alot worse coaches hired than Malzhan. You heard what Monte had to say about the guy and his name is being brought up at Memphis and Louisville already.....

Look at what? Gus Malzahn had control of that offense for like a month. He had nothing to do with the development of Jones or McFadden.

Yeah, at TULSA. He still hasn't done anything to deserve consideration for a head coaching job anywhere outside of HS.

His name is being brought up on message boards. He won't get either of those jobs. No chance in hell.

Yea right.... He doesn't deserve consideration outside of High School? what in the hell have you been watching the last couple years?

He has had success everywhere he has been... And it was immediate. It didn't take a couple years. He had the one of the top 3 offense's in all of college football at Tulsa. Yea it is Tulsa. So what. It isn't high school. Don’t tell me he wouldn’t be a good coach at that level. He has basically already proven that. Also look at what he has done at Auburn in the short time he has been there. Don't tell me they aren't better. Get real. Do you remember what Arkansas and Auburn done to us when he was there? The guy is a good offensive coach….. That is clear to most everyone…

He runs a fad offense and will not succeed as a head coach.

You do know they run the ball more than any other team in the conference....

Malzhan's offense's are balanced. Yea they run some trick plays and the uptempo stuff. I don't like all of it. But the guy understands offense. Will he make a good Head coach? I don't know. But I think he is going to get a shot. That is all I am saying....

A lot of talk on the radio has Memphis as a possible landing spot for Gus Malzahn. Not sure how real of a possibility that would be, but seems like a place he could go and win 7 or 8 games a year and get promoted to a big boy college. I do believe his offense his weak and a fad. Not consistent enough to win big games continually. Will pull the occassional upset, but is most definitly a flash in the pan IMO.

He has proven nothing. He wasn't even fully in charge of the offense at Tulsa and he's only been an SEC coordinator for less than a year -- a year with very limited success against any team with a real defense. You are talking about him getting a head coaching job based on that??? Why aren't people knocking down Jim Chaney's door for a head coaching gig, or Mike Bobo? There are hundreds of more highly qualified people for a head coaching gig than Gus Malzahn.

They don't have much of a choice. He may get a shot once he proves himself, but that can be said about any coordinator on any team in the country. I don't get why everyone views Malzahn any differently. He's known for having an innovative offense. Not for being a particularly good coach.
