I heard some sports guy I believe from either Scout or Espn on the radio this afternoon saying Allen and King were real close. That Allen's family was going to move where ever he went to school. Thought that was interesting.

yeah before today i would have thought clemson had the inside track, but now 3 out of 4 of the rivals guys have him going to cal. but they took a trip out to cal last weekend and apparently cal commit martin pushed them hard.

Cal and Clemson both offered his half brother to get KA and Bama would not offer Maynard. G King and C McCain(Oregon) commit also from Greensboro and friend might now be switching to Cal along with another Oregon commit J Scales also from Greensboro. The four minus the brother visited their together this summer.

His brother had Bama added. Coach Davis visited him inhome Thursday and they offered Maynard a greyshirt next year with the opportunity to earn a scholly after sitting his year out.

BTW BOL no has him no longer commited to UA.

Plus will UT offer Maynard a scholarship to get KA. We would not but maybe CDD will. He is not worth it and the reason Cal and Clemson both jumped in the picture is because they would.

I agree. I find it hard to believe that he would visit this late in the game. I know he has UT on his list, or at least Scouts does, but I really doubt he comes. It would be wonderful if he did. :)

KA to Cal is getting LOTS of momentum. He's lost his commit status on Rivals for Bama. Bama is now the longshot.

BTW, Bama DID offer a scholarship to his brother, Zach Maynard.

My guess is that Keenan saw a chance to be explosive in the west coast offense and his brother felt he could contribute more at Cal than any other place.

This one hurts, he was a player we invested A LOT of time into. He was a heavy BAMA lean from day one and was expected to commit as early as last signing day. The circumstances that led to this were unimaginable. Gil leaves Buffalo. KA's brother gets released to anywhere except MAC or Kansas, and then it becomes a 'package' deal. Clemson, Bama, and Cal have all offered both kids, but I think KA/Maynard see that Clemson/Bama are just offering to get Keenan. Cal recruited his brother outta high school and in the end that is helping. Plus, his relationship with Gabe King.

Link the offer part because no where has it been confirmed. Also remember that Maynard was recruited out of HS by the Cal coach.

Again dead period he can not visit or talk with any coach at this point.

I read it as it was assumed from the visit but it was validated that he actually got offered. Another Mod said a greyshirt and one said a walk-on. Never actually seen it confirmed.

Thats my source. He is ADAMANT that is the case. People have second guessed him and he says there is no way about it, Maynard was offered a scholarship.

I do not put much faith in them anyway but if so whatever. At this point I hope he ends up at Cal.
