Miami is going to be good in a few years. I tell you what I went on Youtube and watched Marve in Miami. He makes some sick plays in college too. Now his numbers in the end were not the best in the world, but give him some coaching and some playmakers and this kid will get the job done in a big way. He is a HUGE pick up. I just hope when he comes here he works hard and acts like a leader. That is the biggest challenge.
I highly doubt that is the case. Kiffin has been VERY selective, as evidenced by the fact that he told Boyd no thanks this year (5*...which I still think was a terrible mistake...if I remember correctly he told the kid to look elsewhere before he even had OC Chaney on staff...obviously many other talent evaluaters thought very highly of him, and he was very sharp at the Army AA game...Co-MVP with Bryce Brown...to which Kiffin reportedly tried to get back in thereafter, but had already burned that bridge)...CLK appears to be doing the same with Nick Montana (whom the likes of Bama and a dozen others have already offered). That might be all this coaching staff wants this year.
Because I know the coaching staff really rolled out the red carpet for me, and that won me over a little bit with the facilities and everything. I was touring facilities I wouldn't even be a part of because they're building a whole-new multi-million dollar building on the far end of the practice facility. I was touring a weight room and locker room that will be obsolete. I know the stadium I saw is getting some incredible renovations.
Definitely, it was definitely a good atmosphere. It's really like the atmosphere here. It's not the exact same offense we do here, but I got a good feel for the offense they run which is pro style. It just seemed like someplace I could see really they operate just like we do here. A fun atmosphere but when it's time for business, it's time for business.

If he's taking a prospect, it's because he thinks they can legitimately compete for the starting spot. Just like in Spring training, most of our current prospects are on even footing...none really stand heads and shoulders above the rest as a "can't miss"
Hendrix quotes from the new Rivals article. John Brice said on the Rivals board that he feels like we're in good shape with both Hendrix and Scroggins and that he thinks we get Marve. He also said we're not out of it for Heaps but that it will be hard to pull him away from UW. Hendrix's HS coach raved about his arm strength (Hendrix also pitches for the bball team, with a 92 MPH fastball) and tremendous potential as a DI QB.
Boyd was a 4 star with a blown out knee. He would not have competed for anything this fall except rehab on his knee.
It's no use. That information has been given on this board I don't know how many times, and people still come out of the woodwork and say, "boy, I wish we would have signed Boyd to compete this year." I am convinced it is information that people don't want to know or be real, and that is why they refuse to absorb it.

I like the ones that quote Boyd saying "my knee feels ok and maybe I'll be ready". Yes, because an ACL tear heals in 6 months.
92 mph fastballs get big money. "
"He could easily add four to five mph getting trained properly. No questioning this kid's arm strength.
in most cases yes but my high school team had two guys that were clocked at 92-94 consistently and are not in the pros. They were drafted but it takes much more than a 92mph fastball to make it. There are a ton of kids that throw that hard out there but is it for one inning or throughout the game or is that there only pitch..etc.You go to minors and your 92 mph fastball is the same as the guy next to you but what else do you have?
Yeea not that easy to jump 4-5mph unless he just has a horrible windup. To say he is throwing 92mph I would say he is not too far off mechanically.
anyways the summary is you choose big time college football if you have NFL potential over baseball unless you are a top 3 round highschool draft pick getting paid bank. The rest of the guys get paid next to nothing.
Could Hendrix get bumped to a 5 star on Rivals with a strong summer camp showing followed by an awesome senior season?
It looks like he and Scroggins are in a good position for increasing their stock with strong camps since both were relatively unknown due to less than stellar junior seasons
