'10 OH QB Andrew Hendrix

Also this weekend, Bucknuts.com reported Moeller junior QB Andrew Hendrix was offered by Ohio State. However, the report might be premature. I asked for confirmation from Moeller coach John Rodenberg and he said nothing is official as of yet.

"We'll know for sure tomorrow," Rodenberg said in an e-mail. "I'll text you as soon as I hear."

I think it is safe to count on OSU offering Hendrix. Thanks for the info, keep it coming sir! :hi:

I don't think PSU is a major player for Hendrix like Moeller implied above. They might have been his favorite team but he's smart enough to see that there are systems he would fit in better (and have more appealing depth chart situations) than PSU.

Moeller didn't really inply that about PSU. Hendrix said in an interview that he was a PSU fan since he was a kid and he would love to get an offer from them.

I do think that Hendrix will weigh QB depth at PSU and decide to go else where though.

Earlier this month, Moeller was offered by Tennessee, which led to speculation that the Vols were the team to beat."I still consider myself wide open. I plan on narrowing my list in the next few weeks. At this point, I don't have any favorites.

Is a summer decision still a possibility for the four-star signal caller? "That is still the plan. I would love to make my decision before the start of the season so that I can focus on winning a state championship."

Per Rivals... He is going to make his decision sometime during the summer...

???

Moeller basically said he thought that if PSU offered Hendrix would go there. I realize Hendrix said something like that awhile back but I think he understands now that there are better options out there.

I think you're missing what I was saying. He wasn't implying anything, he was saying what he heard/read what Hendrix stated he would do if PSU offered.

I agree I don't think PSU will be a big player for Hendrix. I think he would have better options else where.

We've unknowingly been on the same page this entire exchange. Just talking past one another a little bit.

Hendrix's recruitment is much harder to decipher than Heaps' or Scroggins'. I'm not sure how much of a factor the teams' QB depth charts are to him. He almost certainly needs a minimum of one developmental year to start at OSU, ND, or UT. OSU pretty much only has Pryor as starting material, so UT might not be a whole lot more attractive depth chart-wise since he shouldn't be looking to start immediately. ND is a little messier with Clausen and then Crist, who was redshirted last year and highly regarded as a recruit. If OSU wants him, I think Hendrix is theirs to lose, unless he grew up not liking OSU or something like that.

Count all my eggs as officially in the Scroggins basket . I don't think we need him but I want him bad and think we will get him.

They want two QB's but I don't think they necessarily want one of each. They have offered and are pursuing Barry Brunetti pretty hard.

they do want one of each.and yeah they are pursuing brunetti also, but also goin after hendrix incase they dont get brunetti.but i know for a fact that they do want both kinds of quarterbacks in this class.so jay paterno, has someonehe can say that will listen to him, since robinson and clark are not the type of qb's he is use to coaching and they both didnt and dont listen to him.

That makes no sense. So they are going after one of each but they are only pursuing Hendrix (a pro-style QB) in case they miss on Brunetti (a dual-threat guy) Okay.:fool: And who is Jay Paterno?

I suppose you have some sort of link to back this up?

I think UT is definitely still in the game for Hendrix.

It's just hard to tell with this kid. He was all about Virginia until we came along and trashed that party. OSU could come along and do the same thing to us, I don't know. I feel like we are his favorite right now, but I'm much less sure about Hendrix than I am about Scroggins.

I think if we wanted Hendrix we could get him. I feel that we are slow playing him a little bit in order to feel out where we are with Scroggins. If we miss on Scroggins, we will go after Andrew with everything we have in our arsenal.

jay is the quarterbacks coach at penn state.as far as link no,sorry i dont, but friends with mcqueary, and played football with a kid from my highschool who is an assistant on the team he played tight end for them last year but didnt see any real playing time.and they both siad the same thing that they want both type of QB'S and they did offer hendrix.there might be a third one i think.not sure

I may be wrong but i just get that feeling that Hendrix is a silent. I am with you that I think Scroggins is the reason because he has not visited the campus with the new staff and they want to make sure they get him here to see what TN is all about. Not that they think Scroggins would shy from competition but it is alot easier to convince a kid to be a part of a 2 QB class when they have seen campus and gotten to know you better than when they haven't visited yet.

I really like the sound of this. I hope it's the case. Surely they are aware of each others mutual interest by now. It seems that neither of them are scared about the other. If they both decide that Tennessee is the best place for them, I think they would both commit and be ready to compete. As I like to sum up the appeal of our QB depth chart to 2010 recruits: there isn't another team in D-1 where a true freshman QB has as good of an opportunity to win the starting job on a team with as much upside as Tennessee :)

We haven't seen that crucial QB commit yet because it is a scary leap of faith Kiffin is asking these QB recruits to make. I read earlier today that the coaches are telling recruits Tennessee will be competing for championships again in 2 to 3 years. I think Kiffin has a good chance to turn things around as quickly as Saban did at Bama and keep his word with those lofty goals, if we can get off to a good start this year. That would give us tons of momentum on the recruiting trail heading into the offseason. Plus Florida will finally lose Tim Titty Tebow and some of the pieces of that veteran D. UGA is probably going to gain the most ground in the SEC East from 2009 to 2010. But for 2011 and on, UT's staff will not only be on a level playing field with the recruiting class for the first time, but the cupboards should be well on their way to being restocked with talent as Kiffin's third and fourth recruiting classes roll in.

Our staff hopes to make TN relevant again on the national scale in a very short period of time. They're going to attack that goal just like everything else: come up with a solid game plan and bust your ass harder than everyone else to make it happen. Never say quit, never say die. Work until you get the job done. They know what they want and how to get it. They will not be denied.

Kiffin came in and hired what I biasedly consider to be the best staff in the nation. Worked true miracles with the '09 recruiting class. Has absolutely put Tennessee back on the map nationally with his "antics." And coincidentally (hmm maybe not!) there is unprecedented interest in Tennessee in the 2010 recruiting class. He has demolished every obstacle in his path and I have full faith that Kiffin will continue exceeding expectations on the field this season and with the dramatic overhaul of the football program from mediocrity to being competitive on a championship level every season.

Even if Kiffin has rubbed you the wrong was as a fan (seriously though, grow a pair), you HAVE to love the attitude and work ethic these guys bring to the table every day. True professionals. It's exciting to be a part of.

Sorry for the mini-novel.

The CliffsNotes: Kiffin knows what he is doing.

I can assure you that OSU will not be a MAJOR factor in his decision. He is better than the Big Ten
