'10 OH QB Andrew Hendrix

Agreed and I apologize not thinking about Montant before saying Ut is doomed. Hendrix apparently loves UT so it is good. The problem is with Miami offering where he may, very well be able to start there also offering, it just means UT's chances slowly drop.

By the end of this, there will be much bigger competition than Miami and Notre Dame. This kid is the real deal and he's going to get a bunch of big time offers.

If he visits Knoxville our chances will sky rocket

Watch the throw at 3:20, under pressure - deep downfield. It's a thing of beauty.

This vid also really shows off Hendrix's escapability and running ability.

Braxton Miller is going to end up being a Buckeye most likely. Makes me feel even better about our chances with Hendrix.

I don't understand your obsession with this kid. He's a good prospect. Way below Scroggins and Heaps. Legaux and him are about equal in my book. Even the throw you mention was an overthrow. If he hits the kid in stride it's a touchdown.

Yeah, that's a really good video. This kid just has it, period. Some of those throws are big time. I don't care about his stats from last year, watching that video there shouldn't be any question about this kid's ability.

Did you watch the whole film, or just that throw? Yeah, he led the receiver a bit far on that throw, but it shows amazing poise in the pocket and tremendous arm strength.
Legaux is nowhere near the passer this guy is, and if you think otherwise, you just don't know what you're talking about.

Take a look at Legaux's Spring Game film. I challenge anyone to watch that and come away with a positive impression of the kid as a passer. His future success is dependent on being in an offense predicated on running the quarterback.

The big question I have for Hendrix's during this upcoming season is can he do it without his main man. This past year he had Tony Harris (#3 in the video) that he threw to most of the time. The tightend (#80 Dave Schneider) will be a senior and he is pretty good. But without Harris, it will be interesting to see how great Hendy is going to be.

Once again, we agree. I have watched several films of Legaux and I still have yet to see how anyone can be impressed with his passing ability. I am not saying he can't be made into a pocket passer, but I just don't get how anyone can say he looks great passing the ball in his videos. Good athlete? Yes. Good running QB? Yes. Good passer? Not so much. Needs work.

Hendrix, really good passer? Absolutely. Really a good fit for a pro-style offense like UT's? Absolutely.

I don't understand it either. I've been waiting for awhile to watch some film on him, so during some down time at work today, I did. Really, he's a solid QB, but--his stats. Completion percentage is pretty low, his TD/INT ratio isn't even 2:1. From the film I've watched, I can't get a great idea of what he can do since he usually has ALL DAY to throw. Maybe we should recruit some of those linemen. He could also be more fluid with his feet, and he tends to telegraph where he's going with the ball.

From what I did see, however, he made some really good red-zone throws, seems to throw a pretty good deep ball, and he does have a lot of zip. Not to mention he's not really a senior yet.

But damn Sab, you do realize there are probably 10 other QBs like this, and another 5 no one knows about, right?

I hope they are out there, but I'm not confident they are. I haven't seen anyone outside of Heaps, Scroggins or the committed guys that looks as good as Hendrix and I've watched a lot of film. I just think he's our best shot and the best fit if we miss on Scroggins.

The offers continue to pour in for him also. Other schools are starting to notice this kid's potential. His offer list is the most impressive for a QB not named Jake Heaps.

Also on his stats, he split time for the first half of the season and missed another game due to injury. He really didn't come into his own until the second half of his season - so the stats aren't going to blow you away.

I watched the entire video. He's just not that impressive. He stares down his receiver and then makes a ton of short throws. The kid is fast. I actually like his running ability better than Munchie's.

I watched Munchie's spring game video (for the first time). He is sloppy with flashes of brilliance. That's about what I expected. His mechanics need a ton of work.

The passing stats look a lot better for Munchie though.
In my opinion, they are both projects, but I would take either one.

You talking about Hendy?

New article up on ND's offer:
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound quarterback from Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio didn't break out during his junior season like so many of the nation's top prospects. He split time during the first half of last season and missed another game due to injury.

Hendrix finished with more than 1,600 yards passing and 11 touchdowns while playing against one of the state's toughest schedules, but those numbers hardly impressed college coaches.

Yet once recruiters got a look at Hendrix's film, things changed. They saw a quarterback with prototypical size and a big arm. The offers started to roll in. First, it was smaller BCS schools, and many major college programs followed. Last week he added a big one when Ohio State offered. Miami quickly followed suit. Now Notre Dame.

Amen. The thing that they don't mention which I wished they did was that when he split time he split cause he was awful. He was terrible at the beginning. Middle way through, yeah he showed progression. End of the season, you see the man you see in those highlights only those were going on all the time. Against St. X, nationally ranked team and top 5 nationally three out of four seasons, he led us back to a victory to gaurentee us a playoff spot.

I am glad you posted the new article Sab. This is why I am so impressed with Hendrix. His film looks really good. I am not going to base anything off of numbers where he split time for half of a season and then missed another game in the last half. Actually considering all of that, his numbers aren't to shabby. All I know is he is impressive on film and our coaches went to watch him practice and they offered. Apparently he was impressive in practice as well.

I'll jump on the bandwagon when he shows a senior year of what he did at the end of his junior year.

FYI...I think he's a Vol.

We know he is a life long Penn State fan, but from people from Cincinnati and especially from Moeller love Notre Dame (I for one hate them). He has been seen wearing Notre Dame stuff, but he wants to be an orthopedic surgeon, what better place to go for pre-med than Notre Dame. It is one of the most prestigous universities in the entire US. This kid is all about academics, nothing against UT, but this kid would definently go there for football and more importantly for academics. You can't blame a kid for wanting to get the best education he can, can you?

If you're going to med school, your undergraduate education is borderline worthless. Just get a good GPA and do average or better on the MCAT and you're in like Flynn.
