'10 OH QB Andrew Hendrix

Scroggins and Brunetti would still make for a great qb class this year. Lets not forget we still may be looking at the Lamaison for the 09 class to

I dont agree considering the QB class in this year is terrible. I dont think either of these guys are the answer right away at QB for us, they wont be any different then Crompton in their first 2 years. Maybe down the road Scroggins turns into a good QB, but these QB's in this class are not very good.

yeah i understand what your saying but how many true freshman quarterbacks are ready to step in to an SEC program and compete on that level and be very good right away? Very few are. so we can still have a a good qb class. I don't think they are forseeing any of these guys to come in and take the job away from crapton myself this year. I think thats why they are still considering the juco qb

u are right. they may not expect anything from these HS kids in this class before 2011 season, maybe 2012. If Lamaison comes, he might end up QBing 2010-11..than Scroggins / Brunetti might be guy in 2012.

the other possibilities are that they recruit over all the above next year and these kids end up as career backups.

I guess its safe to say that the ship has sailed on Hendrix since he almost verbaled to ND

if they had really wanted Hendrix, he was a lock 3 weeks ago, maybe 4 weeks. We weren't ready to take him then and are less ready now. I think we sailed, not him.. JMO

LWS, the last time I heard your take you said that you thought the west coast QBs would stay out west. Has anything changed your mind?

Hey Sab, your boy almost committed to Notre Shame on his visit there. Do you have any comment?? :)

I'll say the exact same thing I've been saying since the new offers, it's going to be awfully tough to pull him now that so many big schools in his neck of the woods are offering.

Scroggins and Brunetti will sign elsewhere. This class will land its share of studs but most of our big targets will go elsewhere this class.

Geez, tafka. You just never learn.

The bad thing is you spout off things like this without being at all informed about the situation. I don't get it. It's like you're rooting against us. Just don't post.

I think Larry has it right. Our staff is not sold on Hendrix being the guy. Maybe they feel really good about jesse and the rippers.

I've always thought he just says that crap to make people mad and get a good laugh. I don't know how you can really believe the stuff he says. He may very well be retarded though...

He's only 15. I promise you he doesn't do it to troll. He strives not to get banned so he can build up his post count.

So it looks like Hendrix might go to ND, huh? That's an elite group to join...

they feel good about certain individuals as being the best choices they have out of this class. Doesn't mean they are convinced any can take UT back to a championship level, at this point in their evaluations.

That is why I contend, someone pops on the screen in November as being an elite type QB (they don't believe an elite type is currently available) then they may pursue no matter how many QBs are committed.

from espn...

ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback Andrew Hendrix expressed that his recruitment could end in the near future and revealed his top schools during a chat with affiliate Web site Bucknuts.com.

He said, "Definitely I will decide sooner rather than later. I have my list set, so I don't need to take official visits. I have four or five schools in the running."

"(Ohio State and Notre Dame) are definitely two schools in the final group. I think there will be a couple other schools in there too."

When asked what other programs could be in the mix, Hendrix responded, "Definitely Miami of Florida. Definitely Tennessee. And there are some other schools kind of lingering."

Additionally, the Moeller (Cincinnati) prospect also shared what he's looking for, "There will be a lot of factors, but the three are a good academic school, football wise a school with a lot of tradition, and finally a place I can be happy for four years even without football."

Last season he completed 61-percent of his attempts for 1,700 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions.

I agree. I honestly think he would be a career backup with a good arm. That elite sure fire QB is not out there this year. I will not lose any sleep if Hendrix goes elsewhere

Tennessee once was high on Hendrix's list, but the recent offers from Ohio State and Notre Dame have pushed the Vols way down. Tennessee would like to take two quarterbacks in this class, and another candidate is Rees. In addition to the offers to Scroggins, Hendrix and Brunetti, Tennessee currently has offers out to Legaux, Godfrey, Tim Smith of Fort Pierce (Fla.) Central and Ed Sullivan of Boca Raton (Fla.) High.

-Mike Farrell...

Bucknuts sure has some screwed up stats on Hendrix.

I have no idea how many total Int's Hendrix threw last year but in the 4 games I did see Moeller play in last season he threw 6 Int's so there is no way he only had 5 Int's for the season.
