Scroggins and Brunetti would still make for a great qb class this year. Lets not forget we still may be looking at the Lamaison for the 09 class to
I dont agree considering the QB class in this year is terrible. I dont think either of these guys are the answer right away at QB for us, they wont be any different then Crompton in their first 2 years. Maybe down the road Scroggins turns into a good QB, but these QB's in this class are not very good.

u are right. they may not expect anything from these HS kids in this class before 2011 season, maybe 2012. If Lamaison comes, he might end up QBing 2010-11..than Scroggins / Brunetti might be guy in 2012.
the other possibilities are that they recruit over all the above next year and these kids end up as career backups.
Scroggins and Brunetti will sign elsewhere. This class will land its share of studs but most of our big targets will go elsewhere this class.
I've always thought he just says that crap to make people mad and get a good laugh. I don't know how you can really believe the stuff he says. He may very well be retarded though...
I think Larry has it right. Our staff is not sold on Hendrix being the guy. Maybe they feel really good about jesse and the rippers.
ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback Andrew Hendrix expressed that his recruitment could end in the near future and revealed his top schools during a chat with affiliate Web site Bucknuts.com.
He said, "Definitely I will decide sooner rather than later. I have my list set, so I don't need to take official visits. I have four or five schools in the running."
"(Ohio State and Notre Dame) are definitely two schools in the final group. I think there will be a couple other schools in there too."
When asked what other programs could be in the mix, Hendrix responded, "Definitely Miami of Florida. Definitely Tennessee. And there are some other schools kind of lingering."
Additionally, the Moeller (Cincinnati) prospect also shared what he's looking for, "There will be a lot of factors, but the three are a good academic school, football wise a school with a lot of tradition, and finally a place I can be happy for four years even without football."
Last season he completed 61-percent of his attempts for 1,700 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions.
they feel good about certain individuals as being the best choices they have out of this class. Doesn't mean they are convinced any can take UT back to a championship level, at this point in their evaluations.
That is why I contend, someone pops on the screen in November as being an elite type QB (they don't believe an elite type is currently available) then they may pursue no matter how many QBs are committed.
Tennessee once was high on Hendrix's list, but the recent offers from Ohio State and Notre Dame have pushed the Vols way down. Tennessee would like to take two quarterbacks in this class, and another candidate is Rees. In addition to the offers to Scroggins, Hendrix and Brunetti, Tennessee currently has offers out to Legaux, Godfrey, Tim Smith of Fort Pierce (Fla.) Central and Ed Sullivan of Boca Raton (Fla.) High.
