I would like Brunetti as the #2, but he won't commit if Scroggins comes to UT. The camp next week will bring out the best in them and we'll see who comes out a VOL. I'm praying that Scroggins commits. He's coming to town early and will see everything he needs to see about the town, the University, and the Program. Heaps went to BYU, Pete Thomas to ASU, Montana to UW, Hinder to Cal, leaving Brunetti, Hendrix, Nottingham, and maybe Munchie. He's gonna commit, every team he's has shown interest in got commitments already this season. If they staff roll out the red carpet (which I know they will) he's ours to lose.

From what I've read, he is in love with Notre Dame. It would be great if he chose UT, but it doesn't look very likely.

ND and UT are the only visits he's taking. He wants to visit ND while the players are there to get a feel. Sounds like he'll choose sooner than later.

I also read somewhere that he was really close to committing to ND while he was there on a visit. But he had to calm down and think his decision carefully. Doesn't sound good.

I would be ok if we missed out on him. We still have Scroggins, Brunetti, Rettig, Lamison (possibly playing this year), to look at. Plus, they will be others that have break out seasons in the fall that will get some publicity.

Word around here is that he is basically a ND "lock"....that they would need to screw up something to miss on him. OSU is going to be pushing hard for him.... but I think its ND.

I agree with that. ND for Hendrix. Unless something drastic happens on his visit down here.

I have felt all along that Hendrix will not be a Vol. I think the absolute best we could do is Scroggins/Brunetti. If not Scroggins/Lamaison, but I think Scroggins is the key. Let's hope we have a great week.

Not checking the recruiting board, but if we could get Hendrix, what WR do you think would possibly sign?

I think Lamaison is gonna commit next week. We have to have some depth now. he also will be ready for next year with some experience. We can't go into next year with two Freshmen and Nick.JMO

Does anyone know if Hendrix is coming to camp next week? And exactly which QBs will be in attendance? Thanks ahead of time.

i would hope its both. perhaps they are putting all the eggs in the scroggins basket because they know that he is going to commit

The coaches either know A) Hendrix is a ND lock or B) They dont believe he is a SEC caliber starter at this point, and would want to see his SR year first. Probably a combo of both. He was VERY high on us at first.....there HAS to be an underlying reason why we arent pursuing him much now.

I just find it hard to believe you can know what any qb is going to do in college BEFORE their senior year, what a crapshoot to hinge your program on a 16-17 year old kid.

But I like Scroggins! I also like Tennessee Bo as a sceond chioce.
