Montrell, are you hearing anything there in Ohio about where Hendrix might be leaning? From what I am reading it looks like ND might be where he lands. Are you hearing anything about UT at all?
I've been hearing ND. I think he likes Tennessee a lot but I dont think the coaches have him at the top of their board.
:yes:I'd say their pushing the Top 4 or 5 on their board pretty hard.
That's what gets my goat when it comes to some recruits. If you aren't on their jock and giving them all the attention when you have made it crystal clear that you want them to play for you, then they decide who's recruiting them the hardest at the moment and say they're on top. I know this happens and I know that it's just the way it is with recruits sometimes, so please don't try and explain it to me, but it's still something that just burns my cornbread.
I don't know exactly what point you were trying to make, but IMO that adds an extra tool for the coaches. You give them enough attention, they automatically give your school consideration. Also on the flip-side, a prospect getting little to no attention from the coaches are probably not very happy and that's because they realize they are being slow played.
It all ties in to the competitive mentality. You have to understand it and use it, because it aint gonna change. You can fill most of your class early like Texas and USC do, but there are always waiting around for the blue chip kids with egos that want to wait til the last minute and do it flashy.Yeah, but it's not enough that you have a great depth chart for them to come in and start early and make a difference. Instead, you have to keep the little attention seekers happy just so that they will consider you?? IMO, that won't be the attitude around here for long, it will be more of you better take it or we are moving on mentality once Kiffin and them get established here. The attention seekers will get run off.
We are offering them more than they are offering us.
I think it is down to a couple of schools," said Hendrix. "I am going to try to get down to Tennessee for a camp. I would really like to compete down there, so I think it would be a good experience. I also think I am going to try to get back to Notre Dame one more time since I didn't get to see the players the last time. I want to tour around with them and get answers to questions that only really a player can tell me. Those will be the only two visits I make before I make my decision."
