dude....all they would have to do is line up a cb on him.... the thing with TE's is that they have to cause trouble when matched up with a LB....also being able to block effectively helps

fake a block...roll out and get open for a pass

No chance of him being a TE. The "others are recruiting him as as TE" thing was an attempt to knock the kid by a certain poster who knows he is probably going to end up a Vol by trying to say he isn't fast enough to play WR and too small to be an effective TE. Lets get something correct here, I said some people had suggested him a possible TE. Their was an article a while back on the Oklahoma Scout site that was talking about that OU might use him as a TE if he could bulk up. One of the reasons I have stated that he is not high on OU to play there. They don't need big physical TEs in the Big 12. At no time did I say that UA was recruiting him to play TE, that he was slow, or that we didn't want him. When he came to camp after three missed or lost rides he was told we wanted him for a WR and maybe a DB. He has great athletic ability and really has played more QB than any other position in HS. So he is very raw and that is the upside with him. So yes I would love to see him at UA, but he was also told that we were going to take one more reciever in the class since we already have three commited and four for 2009. He was also told that if he didn't commit soon there would probably wouldn't be a spot for him. We have another player who has us in his top two that is deciding before HS football starts. I do believe he is higher on the board than Cobbs. That doesn't mean I agree with the coaches or that we don't want Cobbs. It means if he wants to wait or is not sure than UA probably isn't going to wait. The other player is just as good if not better.

LOL if it is not Prater then who? Cobbs is pretty darn good. I see him as near a 5 star type athlete. He is an elite recruit. So who is this guy? Cobbs is open to playing D. He said himself the teams want me at WR so I will play it this year. I believe he was a RB last year not sure. He is an amazing athlete and all this talking of people backing off is just weird if you ask me. He could commit to UA on signing day and they would find a spot for him. A scout at UA camps said he was the best there. So do not down grade his loss UA wants him bad real bad.

Amazing, I would never see the dunk fake-out.....i couldnt imagine an oreo without doing it.

This guy playing safety or OLB would just be unfair to the other teams. The guy would be a bada$$ OLB IMO.

Its not Prater because I feel he is not interested in us. The player I am refering to is Keenan Allen who is expected to get a fifth star this season. Rivals has him listed as the 31st best prospect. His performances at camps have got a lot of looks. He has said it is down to UA and Oregon. He is listed as a Safety on Scout but will be a WR in college, but he is an athlete like Cobbs that can play anywhere he wants.

2008: Allen ended his junior season with 42 receptions for 709 yards and 11 touchdowns and 554 yards and eight touchdowns on 64 rushes. He also threw three passes, completing all three, for 50 yards and a score. Defensively, Allen posted 48 tackles and nine interceptions.

Cobbs played QB last year but also ran the ball out of the QB position. Alot like T Pryor at OSU. Very nice numbers, especially for someone his size.

Demarco Cobbs played quarterback last season and finished his junior year with over 1,000 yards passing for 20 touchdowns. He also rushed for approximately 1,000 yards for another 10 scores. Cobbs also ran back two punts for touchdowns, two interceptions for touchdowns and one kick return for a TD.

Courtesy of Austin Price. Cobbs will indeed be here on Saturday as he is flying in to see the Vols first workout in pads (we will have a full story in a bit).

Austin also talked to Tyler Bray who is visiting for the UCLA game and at this point that is the only official visit he has set up for anywhere.

Haha the one thing I've learned in following recruiting is never believe something like that haha. Never believe it can't be true but don't believe it at first.
