Cobb and Prater are totally different athletes and would not necessarily compete for the same job. We are assuming that Cobb will play as a WR. He has the abilities to play on Defense too. Even if he was a WR he would be used differently than Prater. The competition would really be between Prater and Milton IMHO
I read somewhere that he pushed back his flight so he will be here another day. Smells like a commitment to me.
We'll see though.
"Tennessee is definitely one of my favorites," Cobbs said. "Before I visited them, they were one of my favorites. There is a tradition of Oklahoma players at Tennessee. Oklahoma is representing at Tennessee. I'm going to definitely take an official visit. I was supposed to leave at 5:15, but I enjoyed it so much that I didn't want to leave and decided to stay an extra night."
I would be willing to bet that we will run more 4 WR sets next year than this.
They will take his commit. He is elite IMO. He may end up on D. Not saying anyone said this. But this is one they would be crazy not to take. If Cobb plays WR this year in high school he could become a 5 star. Prater will look at Depth chart at USC too. He has clearly stated he is a USC fan. He has basically called them his leader. I will take Cobb and call it a day.
That's beside the point. Jesse is right. To dismiss a Cobbs commitment as it relates to Prater doesn't make any sense. Of course it is going to affect him. Unless the coaches tell Prater we are recruiting Cobbs at DB. Which I don't know if they do or don't.
Cobbs won't play the same position as Prater in college. Prater is an edge guy and Cobbs isn't, IMO. No one is dismissing anything, I'm just pointing out that they both won't line up in the same position on the field if both are out there. Also, even if Cobbs did line up in the same position, Prater isn't going to play every down of a game on offense and neither is Cobbs. I don't think it really going to effect Prater because he wants to go to USC, but there's always that chance he comes here. If we take Cobbs, Prater isn't coming IMO, and that means we take a smaller guy in the future, IMO.
