'10 OK ATH Demarco Cobbs

Are you honestly trying to say that Cobbs would be a slot receiver here?

No, he will not. I haven't argued that ONE time. I have argued that Milton and Prater will compete against each other for one spot outside and Ambles and Cobbs would compete for the other outside spot when Jones leaves. I've been saying that for a while now.

Cobbs has better upper-body strength than Prater. He will be a guy that plays on the outside at the next level. He's not a slot guy. I don't see how you could see it any other way.

Geez, your opinions, and i said OPINIONS which mean nothing, are horrible. You just like to have something to argue about don't you? Nothing in their film says cobbs is better than prater, thats why Prater is the #1 receiver in the nation. Not downgrading Cobbs, but I can tell you Kiffin has Prater near the top of his list. Cobbs will be a great WR at UT, but don't be saying he is better than Prater. Prater is a player like Julio Jones, and Cobbs is more of a Nu'kesse and Desean Jackson type player.

I don't see how you can compare the two when Cobbs has played QB more than WR in his own offense?? Prater is a special talent, he's got all the tools to be an AA, Cobbs is going to have to work at it. Cobbs also reminds me of Gerald Jones, but Jones was also better than Cobbs, IMO, at the point Cobbs is right now.

Yeah, I disagree. Cobbs has made a name for himself playing WR at camps and has outplayed many highly ranked WRs such as Trovon Reed. Your wild justification for why Prater wouldn't be affected by a Cobbs commitment just doesn't fly. The more WRs you add the more competition there is. The best guys are going to see the field regardless of how tall they are ect. Adding WRs adds competition. It's really that simple and you're trying to make it much more complicated.

Cobbs has a lot of work to do before he can be in those guy's league, IMO. Cobbs isn't real quick, he's not that fast, but he's solid. I think he would need about 2 years in a college weight program to be real productive.

Dude, you're clueless. I've been preaching the virtues of Kyle Prater for awhile now. Pay more attention before you spout off. You'll avoid looking like an imbecile. At no point did I ever say that Cobbs was a better receiver than Kyle Prater. He's clearly the best WR in this class.

Why don't you tell us all about your granddad and the big fish again? You seemed to ride that wave while it lasted.

You keep talking about competition, but if Prater is scared off by Cobbs for competition, then Matt Milton would be the happiest player in this class. Plus, if Prater doesn't want to compete with Cobbs, then that would be very telling in itself that Prater is wanting something handed to him. Still though, Prater >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cobbs.

Cobbs is nothing like Nuke or DeSean. If anything, he does play more like Julio, just not the same talent level.

2 years in a weight program for what? The dude already weighs 205 at 6"1" and is STOUT. He's not even the same type of WR as those guys to begin with.

Boy the crazies are really out this morning.

You said that Cobbs was more physical than Prater, without much to back it up other than the fact he's outplayed SOME of the other WR prospects out there. Markeith Ambles is more physical than Cobbs and Ambles is closer to Prater's league than Cobbs is, IMO.

I just pass along the information that I hear. Are you seriously attacking me over it?

Yeah, no joke. I never said that Cobbs was a better wide receiver, just a "top prospect." You're preaching to the choir. I would have thought you knew my feelings on Prater's talent.

Your definition of physical and mine must be very different.

Ambles is not more physical than Cobbs by any means. Not even close.

Cobbs isn't a "Top" prospect at WR. There are too many more prospects that project better than him at that position. He's not even Top 15, IMO. He's also a borderline 4* that's had some good camps to pull his ranking up. We will see if he can separate himself this fall and become that elite prospect you think he is.

Being a physical WR doesn't mean that you bowl people over, it means you can go up and get the ball, get off jams on the line, and create separation with minimal effort. That's the physical side of being a WR, IMO. Ambles and Prater probably do that better than most.

Dude, you just keep getting further and further off. Cobbs is most certainly a top WR prospect and he's one that could step in right away physically. He doesn't need to wait 2 years. He's not a borderline 4 star either. He's the 116th player in the nation and is solidly a 4 star prospect. I don't know what was in your oatmeal this morning, Eric, but it's given you a case of hysteria.

The knock on Ambles is that he is not physical enough and has a hard time getting off the line and getting away from jams. His strengths are his route running and hands.

That's what I've heard as well. He is also very smooth and fluid.

Getting off the line can be coached, it is mostly technique. Which is coachable. At lot of his assets are "God Given", which are not coachable. If he is willing to come in and work on these things he will be fine.

He'll need 2 years to develop his skill set at WR if that's what he comes to school to be. Plus, if he had 2 years under his belt with the S&C program, he would be a dangerous weapon. Milton is in the same boat, IMO. Ambles is the only one we have right now that would be in direct competition with anyone we would sign this year or that is currently on the team, IMO. He's a difference maker now, the other two aren't there just yet. Milton looks great, but he's playing against HS competition and being 6-6 has it's advantages. Cobbs is a good/great prospect, but not elite in my book.
