'10 OK ATH Demarco Cobbs

he seem to be giving us some consideration despite our current QB troubles. i can only assume that his interest will rise when we do get a QB but should we somehow, miraculously, land Scroggins, then I would say we have a real good shot at Cobbs.

Im hoping for Ambles, Cobbs, and Milton as our recievers. Im just not feeling Prater as a Vol, not due to a lack of talent, I just currently dont see him here. Not so say that doesnt change as the season goes though. But we are legitimate contenders currently for Milton, Cobbs, and Ambles IMO.

i think thats a pretty realistic receiver class, and would be awesome.

A trip to Alabama for Rivals100 athlete Demarco Cobbshas been an on-again, off-again situation, but it appears that Tide fans are in luck as the dominating athlete is scheduled to arrive in Tuscaloosa this Sunday for Alabama's final camp of the summer.

"I didn't think I was going to work it out, but I was able to get a plane trip to Birmingham on Sunday. Right now it is looking like I am going by myself," said the 6-foot-1, 198-pound athlete. "This is a trip that I am very excited to be taking. Alabama is a place I have wanted to check out for a long time.

"I will work out at receiver mostly, but they may look at me a little at safety or somewhere else," said Cobbs. "Receiver is what they are recruiting me for though. That is where I prefer to play.

"I am not sure when I will be leaving Alabama. I may stay one day or may stay a little later. We will just have to see when I get there. Right now I don't think I will make an early decision, but it is possible when the timing is right and I feel like I have the information that I need that I could decide."

"I don't want to name an overall favorite, but Alabama is up there. I was just very impressed by everything. I am supposed to be visiting Tennessee next and would like to see LSU and Georgia too. I am not sure when I am going to make a decision, but Alabama is definitely going to be a school in the top running."

Is that coming off camping or visiting bama. I dont think that he has visited here. If he's that high and hasn't visited then we look good for him. If we surprise everyone and get JS then I think he's a lock. However, seeing the chances of getting JS are getting slimmer every day then this looks like it'll be a close race all the way to NSD

then that makes sense he has them that high on his list. I bet if he visits then it looks a lot better for us. The way its looking now it looks like kiff will have to be explaining to him how we will find a qb............. just much later. haha. Hopefully we'll get JS and not have to worry about anything else then.

Very positive visit to Bama. Even so, he sounds like he intends to visit every team in his top five. So UT probably still has as good of a shot at him as anyone else.

I've heard that Bama is pretty clearly the leader after his visit out there. Apparently he made some pretty good friends at the camp who are already committed to Bama.

It's gonna be rough to pull him between that, OU and USC.

They might still be recruiting him, but he cut them from his list.

"My top six is in no order, Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, Oklahoma and Florida," Cobbs said Thursday night.

Cobbs subtracted USC and Texas, two schools previously in the mix for his signature. "Both (USC and Texas) are good schools, but I'm just not really feeling them right now."

My bad then. Didn't realize that. I haven't heard anything about him really though besides what my Bama friend told m e about him today.

I believe USC did back off. Maybe Texas did as well. Bama is pretty deep in receivers, which is what he wants to play. UT might offer better odds for early playing time than any team in his top five, and therefore may have a pretty dang good shot at him if he visits.

Georgia is awfully deep too. UT and OU have the best chance for him to see the field early. I think we have a better shot at him than Ambles or any other big name WR out there...

if USC backed off its because he dropped them and not vice versa.. he was the top WR performer at their camp

The USC fans are claiming that the Trojans chose to stop recruiting him. They never say why, but they are convinced that's what happened...

Didn't you know that USC gets everybody they want? When they don't get somebody, they didn't want him anyway.
