10 Passing TD's

Sorry for quoting myself from another thread, but: "QB rating of 119.3, in the SEC 13th out of 14 who have averaged at least 15 att per game. He's 11th in completion % on the same list and 13th in yards per completion. (13th in yards per attempt, which mathematically combines completion percentage with yards per completion.) His rating in the last two games, when he "turned the corner", is 116.46. His rating against ranked opponents is 108.85 which is 9th in the conference. This is mediocrity."

(This was before the Alabama game, which only hurts the numbers more.)

I should have stayed out of this one -- Justin seems like a great kid -- but you quoted stats that show his performance thus far to be poor, and suggested it somehow showed him to be "reliable".

People were arguing over whether or not the OP's stats were accurate, since he forgot about some longer TD throws. I simply posted Worley's stat line for the season. Never once did I state that the stats showed he was a reliable passer. The stats and my comments below them were meant to be taken as completely separate.

Worley had developed into a decently reliable QB. He won't win us any games single-handed, but he's a far cry from the terrible QB he was in the first few games. His numbers are skewed a little by some horrible efforts from several of his receivers (not all of them).

Dobbs may be better. I never said Worley was good. But this Worley hate is stupid and pointless. He's done everything in his power to help us, and he's done a pretty good job.

Please provide the correct info. Does he have more than 10 TD's?

Bo Wallace only has 11
Nick Marshall only has 6
James Franklin only has 14 (Could've been more but he's hurt)
McCarron has 16
Murray has 17

What is exactly your point? Worley is a first year starter with a young receiving corps. Sure he played not to lose, but I can honestly say that he was making progress each game.

The OP on the other hand continues to double down on dumb.

Where is the HATE? All I said was that I was glad Dobbs is getting his chance and that Worley wasn't an SEC QB. I do not "hate" the kid at all. I believe Worley's stats attest to my opinion. I was simply taking the "emotion" out of my opinion and relying on Worley's performance on the field.

You have tripled down on dumb. So you would take Worley over those other starters?????? Check out rushing TD's too.

I just realized we have only 10 passing TD's through 8 games. Our longest TD pass is 9 yards to Devrin Young. I am glad to see Dobbs get his chance. No excuses for Worley- he is NOT an SEC QB.

And you do NOT have your facts straight.

Also, Woreys leading receivers are are 2 true freshmen, a RS freshman and a true sophmore. That is NOT the standard leading receiving corps for an SEC team, either.

Bo wallace has 14 and Nick Marshall has 11. Also Franklin has 17. You need to include rushing Tds too. Try harder next time.

Well dummy, I am just telling you to put things in perspective. However since you are slow, I will spell it out for you.

WORLEY IS A FIRST YEAR STARTER WITH YOUNG RECEIVERS IN A NEW OFFENSE.

Do you understand that? Or do I need to break out the crayons and construction paper?

You could easily go and give Murray a reach around too, if that's what you want to do.

All of the above mentioned QB's have been in similar systems for numerous years with the exception on Marshall.

Doesn't matter that much look at what McCarron did in his first year starting. Or do i need to look that up for you too.

I think paint by numbers would be a better option.

He started as a Sophomore in a familiar system with veteran receivers in a run heavy offense, but sure...go and look up his 16 Passing and 2 rushing TD's that he had for the entire year. Tell me how great he is too.

Here is his twitter handle if you want to ask him out on a date or something...

@10AJMcCarron

You all are being stupid the whole topic is that Worley isn't even close to being on the same level. Have all kinds of respect for the man but no where near the same level of play as these other Qbs

Some people just "can't handle the truth." They have to resort to name calling and questioning IQ. Just shows they know they have a poor argument. Then they flood the thread with excuses.
Bottom line- he isn't an SEC caliber talent at QB.

Totally agree with you. It's just sad to see people accept and defend such mediocrity.

If the intent of your thread was not to belittle Worley, then I fail to see what it is.

lets bring back the guy who threw for a ton of TD's but lost to UK and got throttled by every team Worley has lost to. As long as our QB throws a lot of td's, all is right with the world I guess...

i couldnt agree more.

one minute all that matters is winning.
the next all that matters is td passes.

ill take the wins
