'10 SC DT Kelcy Quarles

Our coaches feel confident about this class and that's all that really matters.

When has a coaching staff ever expressed anything but confidence about its recruiting class?

Fact is, your class pales in comparison to the classes at UT, Florida, and Georgia. Some things never change.

We have a lot of guys on our board including 4 and 5 stars and the fact that we haven't been afraid to take some 2 and 3 stars early on shows we know what the hell we're doing. This staff is a great evaluator of talent regardless of stars. I'll say this again, they know players strengths and weaknesses better than Rivals does. Check out some of our "underrated" guys' videos. Most of them are indistinguishable from any 4 star.

You better care where Tenn ranks. It shows that Tenn is bringing in much more talent than USCjr. Fulmer had some bad classes near the end and it has showed. When he did bring in the talent, they couldn't coach them up. Lane and staff have proven they can coach players up. Superior talent and a coaching staff that can get the most out of their players equals more wins and championships. It is what it is.

I agree with most of this but I'm not so sure you can say yet if Lane and staff can coach those guys up. Wait until after next year before you say something like that. If I remember correctly, when Kiffin brought in coaches he kept bragging about how they were the best "recruiters" and seemed to leave out the coaching aspect.

I'm talking in general about your posting history...

The way you cherry pick which posts you respond to...the way you ignore points of view that don't line up well for USClite and focus on the one thing in a given thread that may paint a decent picture for your team...

In this particular thread your only response has been to pretend that Quarles being a USClite lock (which is due in large part to his dad refusing to let him take a serious look at UT) is a sign that USClite is on its way to relevancy...which I might add is similar to some things you were claiming this time last year...how did those predictions work out for you based on this years results?

You claiming to be unbiased after the crap you've posted on here over the past year is as funny as it gets...

And as far as the 2nd bolded comment goes...tell that to Texas, USC (the real one I mean), Florida, Bama, Ohio St., Oklahoma, etc.

You'll find most of those teams in the top 5 of both the final AP/USA Today polls and the final recruiting rankings year in and year out....it's no coincidence

I think you made that part up. All I did was refute yalls claims that he will end up a vol. I never said he would make our program relevant. And yes, if you stack up top 5 classes year after year after year you are more likely to be a real good team but wait until yall actually do that. It is the start of something though so yeah.
However you can look at UGA who stacks top 10 if not top 5 classes yearly and they look no better than us.

I'm sure you're right. This year's crop of 2-star and 3-star Gamecock recruits are just "sleepers" who the other SEC teams weren't smart enough to evaluate properly.

There'll be championships in chickentown in no time.

Did he have to mention they were the best coaches for that to be true?

He just put the emphasis on recruiting, in that statement.

Well, they beat you...so they've got that going for them.

Not to mention a few trips to Atlanta in recent years...that seperates them from SC as well. South Carolina more closely resembles Kentucky than Georgia.

I've seen enough to know that they can coach. What they did with Crompton was remarkable. They got everything they could out of an offensive line that started two walk-ons. Hardesty with a 1300 yard season...I thought the defensive staff did a great job with what they had to work with. Ed O made Dan Williams a possible first round draft pick. I have no doubt this staff can coach them up. With the new hires, Tenn will be fielding an NFL staff on the sidelines next year. Tenn was a yard and a kicker away from a 3 loss season with average talent. With superior talent, the sky is the limit.

They beat us more often than not but the talent difference is pretty much unnoticeable when we've played them the last 5-6 years. Every game is decided by less than a TD. We still aren't UGA but we're close. They're constant high rated classes haven't made a difference when we played them.

Their last trip to Atlanta was when...2004? How many amazing classes have they stacked since? every year

So, you're bragging because you have equal talent and still lose? Solid.

It was 2005. They've also been to another BCS bowl since then. You've done nothing in that time period, or any period prior, and you never will.

I think you've realized by now that you don't have the best coaching staff in the nation...in fact I'd say VT's is better. And if VT had better players then how do you explain the fact that you've outrecruited VT every single year? Rivals rankings after all determines everything about a team right? Case closed.

I would think by now you've realized we've mostly owned your sorry gas pumping carcasses everytime we've played. Go back to your irrelevant program and enjoy another season of mediocrity.

No one has ever cared what you have to say. This is why.

Our sorry coaching staff took your team down 31-13 with less talent. See you next year!

How many of those busts and highly rated players are still on the team? And how many were permanently ruined and had their talent wasted from the previous coaching staff. You're a complete failure if you believe UT had even or better talent than VT tonight.

it seems to me that we are recruiting the wrong players. we always have a good recruiting classes but it just seems they never pan out or they dont play well with one another. but a school like VT plays in a weak conference, with pretty much ALL Virginia recruits but wins conferance titles and have 10 game winning seasons every year.

Your not taking in the fact that many of the 4-5 star players that made up our recruiting classes have either been dismissed, left the team, been busts, or were failed to be coached up by the previous staff. Rivals rankings don't mean everything. They do mean a lot though. You have to have superior talent plus a staff that can coach that talent up to win championships. Why am I even debating with you? Tenn beat USCjr like a drum and I don't expect that to change either.

That 5 star Chris Donald was a hell of a linebacker wasn't he.....
