'10 TN DB Lonnie Ballentine (Announcing 3/29)

I hope we can pull Ballentine, but if not we will be fine. There are lots of good safeties in this class and I personally hope we can land Robenson Therezie. Therezie is an absolute head hunter. He's listed and looks a little small, but plays like an absolute animal.

Yes, but he's still supposed to be part of the 2011 class. I don't see anybody that's still supposed to be in HS coming in here and starting. That's my main point.

As long as he is 18 years old already, I don't really care what grade he is supposed to be in!

Reading that article UT looks very good for this kid come Monday.

Memphis prospect opts for early college in unusual move GoVolsXtra
I think the visit is a very positive sign for UT. His mom is going to influence his decision heavily. I think Dooley can win momma Ballentine over. Dooley going to close on this kid strong. I think being a closer will be Dooleys best attribute as a recruiter. He will be great with the moms & dads.

That visit tells me one of two things. Either he is coming to personally commit to UT and have his mom there, or he is telling UT I coming to visit I am yours to lose so if you want me convince me and I think CDD can do that.

Also one of our early commits in January just left the team for medical reason and will not return.

Who is this?

Indeed. If he visits with his mom, I think its a wrap! Dooley going to sell the character & academic support program he's installing. That will seal the deal with mom. Dooley going to take care of her baby. :)

The fact that he is visiting on Friday can only be a very good thing for us

Where did you hear this? Sorry if I missed it if it's somewhere already in this thread.. If this is true it would be incrediable especially if he really is deciding on Monday..

That's what everyone keeps saying. Is he a hard hitter? Aggressive? Good in coverage? etc etc etc
From what I've gathered, he's big, athletic, & very physical! He's versatile & can play corner or safety. Has a lot of upside as far as being coached u
p. Started playing football in 9th grade. I think he prefers to play corner in college. He also runs track.

Hope you're right. If there's one thing Dooley will be good at, it will be getting through to the parents (unless they're like Seantrel Henderson's dad).

I see this as nothing but positive for UT, though if the reports are correct about Porter's efforts getting this kid to stay home, its going to be a tough sell.

Listen up troll, you have to create an atmosphere for kids to WANT to be here, and right now we don't necessarily have that here for the studs to just want to flock here. You have to have kids who not only want to play football for your school, but be a part of the community as well. So, we get who we can and who wants to dedicate themselves to not only bettering the program, but bettering themselves as well. Your tired self-sympathy posts are not only old, but show that you are a troll or not even a Vol fan. I'd keep you out of this forum, if I had that power.

Great reply Eric. :) We don't need all this negativity around here.

GBO!!!!!!!!
