'10 WA QB Jake Heaps

you whiners are off topic

How the hell do you get 1300 posts in less than month?
I contribute my opinions almost daily. Some are in a padders paradise, and only have 1400 in 6 months. I have been out ouf town a few days so I probly missed some stuff. Let me profile here. You fella are are either a future dropout student or a kid that is craving attention or a combination of both.
I normally dont speak ill of others but damn dude get a life, and a clue. Most of your posts I have seen are drivel.

I posted this earlier in the topic, regarding his Rivals rating:

This is a behind the scenes view into what happened with the rivals ranking. Yes I know the family...

The two main guys from Rivals that rank the kids are based on the east coast. They saw Jake one time at the Army All American combine in San Antonio where Jake got off to a slow start having not picked up a ball since his state championship a about month previous. That performance and his size are the contributing factors for thier ranking strangely NOT his body of work. (Jake's is in the mold of a Drew Bree's Mark Bulger Steve Young as far as size goes so he is not going to blow you away with his stature when you meet him) But on the field he plays as big as any other guy you'll meet. Rivals own west coast affiliates are crying foul on the ranking with their east coast partners...

Matt Barkley last years #1 QB did not throw at that the Army All American combine for concern that the same thing could happen to him... a lowering of his rating based on one performance in an uncontrolled setting... in the end Barkley switched to the Under Armour Game... Combines like the Army All American are a free for all... it is not filled with all d-1 talent like you might imagine... Jake was not suppose to throw at the event and was at the last minute persuaded to do so. In retrospect he should have stood his ground. The family is taking a live and learn attitude on this one...

The West Coast Rivals guys have contacted the Heaps apologizing for their companies unfair rating and have emailed their disgust and frustration to their home office. But in their own words they have very little pull as Rivals is a east coast based company.

Jake is not expected to be on ESPN's top 150 list either as that has become a showcase for the kids that are attending their Under Armour game in Florida. ESPN/Under Armour was unsuccessful in getting the Heaps to date to switch to their game as he had already committed to the Army All American Game back in September of last year. Through channels ESPN let the Heaps know that they could expect Jake not to be in their top 50 due to his refusal to switch games. The Heaps are standing their ground refusing to be bullied...

The family is taking all of this in stride... from what I understand Jake spoke to several big time coaches yesterday that contacted him to make sure that he knew that they thought the Rivals thing proved how little the Rivals guys know about football. Heck Nick Saban personally offered Jake a Scholarship last night and laughed off the ranking slight.

As far as how did Jake do this weekend at the Vegas 7 on 7 all you have to do is read the articles from the SCOUT writers who were actually at the event. Jake unequivocally had a great weekend...

Look at the top posters list, tafka's not even in the top 10 for the last 7 days. He's 15, and on spring break. Every other poster pointing out his posts is getting just as old as anything else.

He didn't drop. He was never rated until the 250 came out. And yeah, he had a bad camp that several Rivals scouts were in attendance for.

And you would be correct Sab. I guess what I was getting at, I had read some articles that actually suggested he might be the top rated QB of this class and almost certainly a top 100 prospect. However, you are right, he did not drop, but I think where he came in at when the ratings were released was a bit of a surprise. He sure does look good in his recruiting videos and has the stats to back it up. Maybe he just had a bad day. If so, he has plenty of time to make up ground.

Skyline, a poster earlier in this thread said Jake would decide between Washington and Tennessee this week, have you heard that ?

It would be different if he had an actual original thought.

He's just speculating, I think Jake is still about a month or two away from his decision. Nothing much has changed recently other than some more offers being added. Personally I think BYU has dropped off a bit now that Jake has taken a look around at other schools, and it is UW and UT in front.

Also, if anyone is interested, a WR from Florida and a WR from a Seattle HS are transferring to Skyline to play with Jake for their senior season. Once he commits to a college I imagine he will have a similar effect when he actually starts recruiting guys himself.
