'11 AL DB Christion Jones

You speak in riddles or are you implying wrong doing here.

Either way all I know is that he stated from the beginning he was a diehard UA fan growing up. That UA did not show him any love in the beginning, but he really wanted to stay instate. So begins the saga of him liking Auburn and announcing them his leader.

Then UA offers him and he gets excited, sort of like Clear in TN. We offered early on him but he was always a UT fan. So CDD offers and UT is where he will likely play.

The odd thing of the whole ordeal is how UF has now become his leader in all this. Like I said he never wanted to leave the state, was a UA fan, but when we didn't offer decided AU was the place, than we did and now likes UF. Go figure.

That pretty much sums up what I meant. I knew he was a UA fan and Alabama has had Minor locked up for a while so I figured something might happen when y'all offered.

What I didn't expect was for Auburn to be dropped so completely and so suddenly. That is why I expected foul play at first. But now... I just don't know what to think. It sounds more like Auburn did something wrong now.

It could be like the mystery behind S Region. Shows up for a press conference with his group that was decked out in Bama gear. Said he was a die hard Bama fan and they were always his leader. Even told the staff he was commiting to UA and annouced for the Barn.

Funny how things work out and now Spencer looks like he might be hanging out with unhappy cows for four years in Wisconsin.:)

I think his recruitment blew up based on camp performances and alot of schools took notice.

I also heard he was suppose to annouce soon so that Auburn could get it over with, but when he decided to wait and said he was going to take visits and hit the camp circuit the staff was not to happy about it. Not sure if I believe that because I know Enrique and Rose are suppose to camp at UA this week. So I do not know why it would be different for anyone else.

I hope we can get him, but not sure now. This is one of those guys we slowed play and it might not work in our favor now.

Ha ha yeah I love that he is now having to look at places like that because his top schools are done with his drama. My favorite quote I saw recently was on an Auburn board actually about him saying he and the UA staff hadn't been in contact lately because "they were playing phone tag" and the poster said "more like Saban hits ignore when you try to call him and ask for your scholarship back"

Yeah CNS does not seem the kind of person real big on all the new technology out there, but I bet he loves caller ID.:dance2:

I have always thought Enrique Florence was an excellent player, prob the best in bama this year.

As for Rose, he is legit but I dont see how he could go to bama with all the auburn legacy and all. Quite honestly, I dont see how he doesnt end up at auburn and bama would be utterly shocking. And even though I consider him and auburn lock, he is visiting Tenn tmrw I believe.

I'm sure you know your coach better than I do, but I understand he loves technology. He is always one step ahead when it comes to bending the rules of recruiting (by which I mean he was one of the first to start texting recruits when they limited calls and one of the first to start skyping when they limited texts).

I hate the arrogant pos but he's a smart guy.

I think AU's confident about Rose and Florence but was not at all about Jones and did not want him being receptive to the overtures he's now getting. I also wonder if maybe Jones learned that some things AU had told him are BS -- but that's just speculation on my part -- just trying to figure a plausible explanation for him "dropping" AU so suddenly and completely.

Anyway, Bama wants another CB and Jones is definitely a candidate for that, but it appears both Bama and UF may have other prospects ahead of Jones on their boards. According to Scout's Andrew Bone, if Bama has room, Bama can land Jones. But if not, and if UF has room I would think they probably can land him assuming Jones is as high on them as he says. However, it's quite possible neither Bama or UF wind up in a position to take him. My point in all of this is that if UT definitely considers Jones a take, it seems to make sense for UT to stay in the chase.

I messed up on a post I wrote earlier and realized it so I stated that I was talking about the wrong DB from AL. No Jones is legit.

I’m still going to give Auburn some consideration, but from now until the end of football season I will give most of my attention to Alabama, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Florida. I have visited all of those four schools this summer, and they are the ones I will take my official visits to in the fall,” Jones said.

“I really like Tennessee. Probably my top factor is the opportunity to come in and play early. They lost their safety and are losing a lot of their DBs. I believe I can step in and help out immediately. I got a chance to sit down for some one-on-one with Coach [Derek] Dooley, and he is a very nice person. He wanted to get to know me and see what my values are. He said he’s changing the way they do things in Knoxville and wants high character guys playing for him. We also spoke about me playing safety and using me in the return game, which would be awesome. I believe he will get UT’s program headed in the right direction and they want me to be a part of it. I really want to play for a contender, so I’m going to have some big decisions to make.”

Yes you can
