'11 FL DE James Wilder Jr.

Ive seen him in person at games, just telling you what I saw.
Like I said, i'll put on the flame suit

Meyer utilized FB Billy Latsko in '05 and '06 to give UF the closest thing to a "traditional" running game you'll see out of our offense. Deshawn Wynn was the featured power back in '05, with Tebow coming in on certain situations in '06.

Expect the same with Joyer and Wilder (if he commits).

Dont lose any sleep over Wilder.
He's a man without a position. He's not Freakishly explosive and quick like Jevon Kearse

Im probably the only guy who follows recruiting who thinks Wilder wont be some all world college player. :dunno:

he is very robotic.

I watched Blakely chop his ass up in the open field in the State title game...
Personally I think his physique boosts him up in scouts eyes.

*puts on flame retardant suit*

To be fair, Jevon Kearse wasn't anywhere close to a finished product coming out of high school. He was a gangly oversized safety who wound up redshirting at UF due to various reasons.

Wilder is much more physically gifted than Kearse at this point, and I disagree about Wilder being "robotic". Kid is a ridiculous athlete, and it's not like Blakely is exactly chopped liver.

Kearse aalways had a burst even when he was super raw outta Ft Myers
off topic I see you're a UCF fan, how far back do you go with UCF sports?
are you familiar with Darryl Davis & Howard Porter (basketball) ? , Mike Grant, Todd Cleveland, Gerard Davis (Football) ?

and yea, Blakely is Legit!!!

I've lived in Orlando since '92, but only really started following UCF since Keith Tribble took over as AD. My sister is the women's hoops coach there, and Keith just hired former UF assistant Donnie Jones as their men's hoops coach.

I've heard of a few of those football players you mentioned, but not the basketball players.

Good Deal.
Yeah Tribble was a good hire.

just seeing if you heard of some of the homies .

He meant you cant coach a power running game if you dont know the first thing about power football.
perhaps the guy who was Ron Dayne's position coach for his first three seasons and the offensive coordinator during his Heisman winning year and the following 5 years at Wisconsin will give Meyer a few pointers.

really if you examine the decisions for replacing the three offensive coaches (Mullen, Hevesy and Gonzalez) who were with Meyer back from when he got his start at Bowling Green you can see they are moving further away from spread option football. Heck with three offensive coaching positions open this past fall Meyer passed on his old OC at Utah because of that. So now there's only one offensive coach who had a spread background before coming to Florida. Everybody else came up with more conventional offensive schemes.

I highly doubt Meyer will abandon spread principals or using his quarterback more than traditional offenses as a running threat but the heyday of the spread option is over at Florida. It's not going to be solely pounding between the tackles to set up the play-action pass or anything but you'll see a much more conventional rushing attack unless the next Tim Tebow shows up.

100% agree on this. He is strong guy, no doubt but I just don't see a RB and he does seem pretty stiff as well.

There is a lot of smoke that he will commit at Friday Night Lights. We also recruited a top full time fullback for the first time in a while so it seems we are posturing to try and develop some sort of power running game around Wilder.

GT.

while i think he'd be a good fit for their offense he didn't even bother visiting Georgia Tech while he was up being a spectator at Dawg Night.

i don't think Wilder will go public for Florida at FNL because it looks like he wants to do it with his teammates.

There's more to story than why he didn't visit GT. Wasn't his choice. Regardless he's a Gator.

i still say gator...but i heard he had a great time a uga..like commit on the spot great..

gator says my gut tho

For all of you that say/think kid a lock to Gators some news out that he showed up at Jimbo's Camp instead of FNL....stay tuned! lol

Christian Jones is overrated, check his film. Not sure where the 5 stars came from. I'm sure he could be a good LB with some development, but not this coming year.

If Lane Kiffin were our coach he'd be on our team, I don't think you'd still be saying that

So that is why Monte Kiffin had stopped by his school a number of times and made him a priority is because he was a terrible player.

Yes I know that. Still have the same opinion.

The words "this year" were never in my post.
You're right, those words were in my post....
