I can't see that logic. If they are fairly sure he won't contribute then they will miss out twice by taking him- once when he doesn't play and twice when he ties up a scholarship that could be given to someone much better. Even if it isn't a position of need, I would rather take someone else who would contribute.

No need for hype. His film and talent speaks for itself. Kid has offers from Aubbie and LSU...didn't camp much so he's not ranked highly but IMO he'll be an SEC LB next season.

Cant believe we passed on this guy. Our LB's suck and are slow. yes Paul is undersized but he is fast. I'm sorry Dooley but big slow linebackers don't fare well in the SEC, maybe in the WAC it does.

It wasn't because of his speed, size or skill set.

Hard for me to say this was a mistake by the staff like a lot are doing, unless I have all the facts that the staff has. Until then, I can not make an assumption one way or another. Obviously the staff has found something out about Paul that makes him a lot less attractive now.

Apparently something was done during the visit by Gionni that the staff highly disliked. I don't know what it is, so don't PM me or anything, but there have been sources saying that it had nothing to do with his size, speed, or skill set. It was a character issue, and something that must have HIGHLY displeased the staff.

He went from "Tennessee is my leader" to "Tennessee was really nice, but they're not quite up there" after the weekend. Either Gionni or someone in his family did something that just turned the staff off.

Again, I do not know what he did, nobody will say that, but I do know that it pertained to character issues.

Best of luck to him and here's to hoping for CJ Johnson and Lamar Dawson

That was pretty much the same thing stated on TOS. I knew it had to do with something going down during the visit. I know I read this morning the family thought he committed, but the staff had to clarify the situation to them before leaving. This explains the 180 during the latest interview...

His own family thought he committed? I guess whatever took place happened while they were gone or behind closed doors. That's a shame. We need linebackers and I think he would have been a contributer.

I don't know what exactly happened. I mean, unless there was some lying about his grades or maybe there were drugs, or maybe there was an unreasonable request made. I don't know, it's all speculation. Maybe it wasn't even Gionni's fault, maybe it was one of his family members.

Or maybe, while about to take Paul's committment, Curtis Grant called and said "Hey Coach, I'm committing, you cool with that?" And Paul stormed off in rejection.

I'd be okay with that. :)

You can't believe everything you read. I try to figure out what's BS and I don't know what is happening here. Wish I knew. I don't understand passing on Paul unless he did something during his visit that put his character in question.
