Four-star RB Justice Hayes of Michigan tells ESPN.com's Bill Kurelic, writing for ESPN affiliate SpartanTailgate.com, that he is down to six schools: Tennessee, Iowa, Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State and Northwestern (that's the order he listed them).
Hayes has backed off his original plan to decide this summer, and in fact will not even take officials until after the season. He has taken unofficials to all except Tennessee, which he plans to hit before the end of the month. He did say, however, that he might narrow his list further, to four schools, before the season.
In his ESPN.com blog, Kurelic writes: "Picking a favorite for Hayes at this point is pretty difficult, but it seems safe to say the Wolverines and Spartans don't trail anyone."
If Michigan lands four-star Demetrius Hart of Florida, which we told you earlier seems a good possibility, then that may eliminate the Wolverines. The Spartans currently have another in-state RB committed in three-star Onaje Miller, who is the same size as Hayes but who Scouts, Inc., likes as a CB.
