Reports are now coming out that Lemay was caught in a compromising position with a female student at his school. The part about his wrongdoing I have read on UGA boards, but papers are only saying misconduct. He meets Monday with the school to discuss what could end up being a 30 day suspension and missing half of his HS senior seaon. What gets me about this situation though is that how he made his announcement at his church which was named after him. Also that him and his family have such strong religous values or said they did during his recruitment and why they commited to UGA because CMR had those same values. I understand that these are just kids that make mistakes but I do not understand the fake premise they promote. I guess UGA will have to live with this one and in NC if a student is suspended they can not make up any work they miss. So Lemay might struggle to pass the fall semester if he is suspended for 30 days, which I think he was trying to be an EE.
Christians are Christians because they realize they are sinners and need God for (a) forgiveness and (b) His help living a less sinful life. Just because a Christian fails doesn't mean his "premise" is automatically "fake". It just means that Christ's blood isn't done cleansing him. Don't hold us to a standard that we admit we can't measure up to. Have a good weekend, dude...he isn't crucifying the kid, just calling him a little of a hypocrite

Sorry. Didn't mean to paint you with that brush. With that said, the 'bama fan was making much more of a point than you give him credit for with the "fake premise" comments. My points stand that this type of argument against Christians that sin is stupid.I didn't say his premise was fake, just that the Bama fan was saying how ironic that someone who was recruited by the religion tactic could make such a lapse of judgement

A Christian is one beggar telling another beggar where they found the Bread.
Thanks for the clarification... My apologies.

Actually, a Christian is a person who has decided to believe in a god/mystic ruler and who has taken into account all the gods/rulers in world religion and picked his/her favorite to believe in-like all other religious persons. Just as in ancient times, a person's favorite god is (90-something % of the time) chosen in close proximity to the person's familys' beliefs, place of birth, nationality or race, and life experience (or lack of same). Most present active religions work on a hoped for/dreaded reward/punishment system similar to Lords/villeins or Royals/peasants. Each god is the only real god to the believer. Same as it ever was.
As a life long "Christian" and a current seminary student, a "Christian" is one who has committed himself or herself to the service of Christ and the Father God who Jesus said was also our Father. This commitment is independent of one's religious heritage or family heritage. There are "Christians" all over the world who believe very differently about religious practices and ethical standards. While most Christian's trace their "faith lineages" back to the God of the ancient Israelite people (YHWH), it is not a requirement that one adopt the beliefs or the practices of the the Hebrew people. Neither is it necessary that one follow the practices of ancient Church to be a follower of Christ. Christ was not and is not a "choice" among many other equally valid choices. He is who he is. He is the savior of the world- not just those who choose to follow the ways of the Christian church. My belief in Christ has no baring on what Christ is or what he is not. It is my contention that Christ is your savior and the divine representation of YHWH regardless of what you or I might say or believe about Him.
oh by the way, this has nothing to do with UT football!

I can assure you that most people don't sit down one day and evenly compare and contrast all the world religions out there and then objectively come to a decision on what religion/religious figure they are going to follow....Which you seem to agree with given the second half of your post which contradicts your first (the part in bold)....
That was nice. Humor or not, you bash someone's entire belief structure and the call "no tag-backs"! lolIt's not a contradiction, but let's not discuss it on a football thread, ok? It was only supposed to be a funny. (you know, compare and contrast carefully and then "choose" Dad's/Mom's/Grandpa's religion almost all the time) No actual disparagement...just a little "god" humor.
Any other place, fine. :hi:

"Let me dump on your entire belief structure and then ask you not to discuss is..."
That's cool, tho. Go Vols.
