Get into the mind of an 18 year old boy:

Presser at local high school = every girl in the school being impressed and thinking in their heads this guy could set me up on easy street.

He knows this. All these guys know this.

If you're going to go out your Senior year go out in style. Go out nailing every girl in the school.

Having a presser sure helps with that.

The article from today on scouts says the Vols are way out in front. Also, that he wanted to comitt befor next season starts for him Aug 28. I agree with LV noting to worry about. I think he just wants to make his choice infont of his frinds and family.

Is it possible that Dooley is holding back ALOT of silents at this point for some PR reason?

Could he be keeping them silent so they can recruit while visiting other schools/camps without raising as much suspicion? Isn't Saban notorious for having his commits recruit while visiting other schools?

Maybe he's taking a page out of Kiffin's book and will use these announcements to dull bad news?

I think I'm more surprised than disappointed that UT hasn't gotten more commits at this point considering how many seem to be committed in every way except the public announcement.

I have no idea why people keep saying this but no. He's not being told to wait. He can announce whenever he wants.

FTR, I wasn't just talking about Martin. Martin has been so "unsilent" that there's no way another coach would trust him to not be talking up UT while visiting... that or he's playing UT on behalf of someone else.

Recruits have been doing pressers for selecting schools for a lonnnnggg time

I honestly never kept up with recruiting till this year. I use to just see where the class ranked, etc.... so I'm kind of ignorant on some of the recruiting stuff.
