Look, Pat Martin is a Vol. He's not stupid. Spurrier probably won't even be there 4 years from now. South Carolina is one of the few SEC schools we're actually out-recruiting right now haha.

Reasons he'll be a Vol: He's repeatedly called us his leader, we have the perfect depth chart for him to come in and get PT, even in our down years we're still better than USCjr, our tradition is better, our facilities are better, we've sent more players to the NFL in 5 years than they have in almost 20 years, the girls are hotter in TN, and his hero Eric Berry played here.

Pat Martin choosing USCjr makes about as much sense as tying your shoes with your feet.

I took the liberty of rebuttal for the Cock fan who commented on this story. He clearly didn't expect a UT fan to bust his chops because he word vomited all over himself by bringing up USCjr and their NFL pipeline (or lack thereof) and by saying USCjr was "the hot team right now" hahahaha.

Pat seems to be looking for other options
if you ask me. He was a done deal according to
several people - to become the next Vol a long time
ago. And (IMO) if he was really recruiting for UT, he would have already jumped aboard.

We'll see what happens....hope he decides to be a Vol,
but the way recruiting seems to be picking up steam
our staff will have their bases covered no matter what any one prospect decides.

easy troop. There is a personal angle here and the kid has to live the decision down throughout a school year and football season. It's probably easier in his daily affairs to simply be undecided.

Pat is just stringing the thing along. He was about to choose between UT and USCjr without even having visited or having met Steve Spurrier in person. Pretty obvious who he was gonna pick. Now he's saying he will visit to give them a shot but they'd have to blow him away. I'm not sure about you, but I don't know that USCjr has every blown anyone away on a visit.

Maybe Michael Phelps could show up like he did when Jarvis Giles visited. It's pretty bad when you have to use a swimmer as football recruit bait.

I'd personally rather him hold off, versus locking into UT early and then waffling on us later in the season. So let him have his visits.

If this kid has any sense, he will come to UT. The roster sets up nicely for him to play early. And any fool can recognize that Columbia is a dump. I work there a good bit and cannot ever get out of town quick enough . . .

I think his heart wants to be a Vol. But, also as far as recruiting other players, he wants others to see the same thing he sees. He wants to play with talented players as well as players he knows is good. He'll catch a lot of grief from the SC fans and that may be the reason for not commiting yet. Its still early but eventually he'll be a Vol.
