JL Mann DB Pat Martin (6-0 192) had planned to announce a college choice between USC and Tennessee on August 16th. But Martin has decided to delay that announcement.

"I'm looking to move the date back because I plan to visit South Carolina before announcing," Martin said. "I want to meet with the staff and coach Spurrier." Martin said he communicated with Gamecock recruiter Shawn Elliott thru e-mail Wednesday. And he says he talks to Tennessee coaches every day.

In his mind right now, the Vols are out in front. "I want to give them (USC) a chance to recruit me," Martin said of his impending visit. "I want to give them a chance to change my mind. It's the 12th round and they've got to deliver a knockout punch. South Carolina has got to blow me away."

Martin said he does not know when he'll visit USC but it won't be this week. And he's now unsure when he'll make a decision.

You know, I want this guy just as bad as anybody else, but I just don't understand that if he is so in love with UT why even bother going to USCe. I know this is part of it, but he has been like a teasing girlfriend. One day its "I love you, I love you, UT" then next time its, "got to go checkout another guy and you better hope he don't blow me away." I feel used and dirty. I feel like a cheap hoe !! :cray:

Guess GT was correct saying Martin really loves attention. Atleast this way he will have no regrets either way.

I don't see why he would want to visit now since he hasn't really made an effort to go before. He didn't show the last time. He says UT is out front but I wonder if something has happened for him to decide to go on a visit right now before he is supposed to announce his decision?

This is getting a little dramatic. The kid is starting to look like he likes the attention a little to much for me. I know he is a big piece of the puzzle, but how would we feel if this kid was instate and about to commit to USCe and acting like he was doing us a favor? I think most of the board would consider him differently.

I've followed recruiting very closely for 10+ years yet it never ceases to annoy the crap out of me when a kid decides he wants to play the game like this

You know other recruits watch each other to see who commits where, so I can imagine him waiting on committing only hurts as far as recruiting goes.

So it's either Pat the Cock or Pat the Vol...considering his Rivals profile has UT on High, but Rivals updates profiles every other week it seems.

He lives in the upstate of SC. Upstate=Clemson for the most part. Clemson supporters would rather have him go to UT than USC.

If he really liked us as much as he has said......why not commit already? I think he just likes this process and attention, and seems like the type to want to "shock the world" with his announcement. Im not feeling as confident in him being all vol.......
