As I said in another thread today, Pat is too small to play a normal linebacker in a 4/3 defense and I do not foresee him growing enough to do so. However Wilcox might want to use him as a hybrid spur in some situations. I think he could prosper there.

Nope, they don't know something we don't. He took a trip to Arkansas and was then moved to a soft verbal.

He could have said, "I am going to Arkansas just for the free food. I hate arkansas and everything about it, I am just taking these suckers for a ride. When I die, it will be in orange.", and he would have still become a soft verbal.

You may be right. Dooley has made some statements about wanting bigger safeties and how our current safeties are prototypical cb's.

Pat had a video interview with Scout today. He talked about his three upcoming official visits and what he liked about each program.

Arkansas (Jan. 22nd) - They are winning right now and are a good program.

UCLA (date tbd) - has some family in California

Tennessee (Jan. 14th) - Coach Dooley treats him like his own son and showed him the attention he wanted.

Why take visits? He says just to have a little fun and to explore his options.

Nothing new but Martin told JB he is fully committed. to Tennessee & his isnt going anywhere, he just wants to take visits for fun.

Martin & Vincent Dallas are rooming together at UT.

Pat Martin is and will be the man at Tennessee. I can't wait for this class to get there. I think we found a diamond in the rough with coach Dooley.

Not the best source for info but for what it is worth.

DB Pat Martin (6-0 192) of J.L. Mann committed to Tennessee back in August choosing the Vols over USC. He now says he could take an official visit to Arkansas. "It's true," he said. "I'm just looking at other places right now." Another possible visit for Martin could be UCLA. He has an official visit scheduled to Tennessee in early January. Martin did not comment on the strength of his commitment to the Volunteers.

Unless CDD is no longer interested I would not be concerned. He has been one of UTs biggest recruiters. Maybe he is going to visit to recruit other players.
