'11 TN QB Mike Wegzyn

Wegzyn's junior-year numbers were not impressive, to say the least. His Northville team played 10 games and I couldn't find his complete stats, but in seven games Wegzyn completed just 51 of 114 passes (44.7%) for 621 yards and 5 TDs, with 6 INTs.

Not counted in the stats above is his performance in Northville's lone playoff game. From the local paper: "The Mustangs used two quarterbacks. Mills and junior Mike Wegzyn, who were a combined 4-of-17 for only 16 yards and three interceptions."

I hope it is us. The kid looks to be a real stud (and then some). However, if Tyler Bray makes it, I can't believe this kid would want to sit for 2-3 years. Of course, if he goes to ND, he has to sit behind Tommy Rees.

Says who? Wegzyn's film is way better than Rees's. I never understood why everyone was so big on him.

Kid definitely has elite size. Has good ball velocity from about the 10 seconds of that workout tape I watched.

So...is this kid in the same league as Lemay, Bridgewater, Worley, etc. ?

If so he needs to be priority #2 right behind Richardson...

A legit D-1 QB prospect, possibly 4-5 star ranking...right in our backyard...the football goods must be taking pity on us if it's so

Kid looks legit. This would be a great pick up and really start the focus on in state talent.

Does Knox Catholic have a current quarterback on its roster that was projected to be the starter before Wegzyn showed up? If so wonder how he feels about the new arrival?

Probably, unless they were planning on playing the 2010 season without a QB until Wegzyn came. Somehow I don't think they were.

or maybe their last qb will be graduating in the spring with no heir apparent, hence the original question, if I am looking for a smarta** answer in the future I'll be sure and let you know

Old staff knew about him and was watching him. He was at skills camp at UT last June. New staff knows about him too. Word is the kid likes Notre Dame. He was recruited last fall by Cincy and now the whole staff is at ND. Dooley better move on this one or we will lose one from our own backyard. Plus, Kiffin and Ogeron would love to try to steal a UT player's brother from us.

If this^ is true then why move to TN from Michigan if Notre Dame is where you wanna go? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless it was something like his parents had a job transfer or something.
