I remember when this forum claimed Gionni Paul was a must get for our last class. I remember when this forum FREAKED out when Christian Harris committed and now people are raving about him. The recruiting forum is absurd and anyone that takes the internet coaches opinions seriously.

He looks a lot like what they already have on campus, at least to me. Smart, heady guy but looks to me like an average athlete for an SEC linebacker. Tennessee just needs to get better athletes period. And LB is the most glaring need for that. Hopefully they can coach him up and have some success.
I just hope this isn't a sign they aren't feeling too good about some of the big-time LB's they have on the board and seemed to be at least in decent shape with.
I am gonna trust the staff knows what they are doing after seeing what happened with Harris.
I did a little review of Khalid Henderson. I think the Vols got a very nice prospect, but he's a kid who may take a little time to develop. Absolutely a redshirt kid.
On the positive end of things, he has excellent burst and he brings his man down. He appears patient...allowing him the opportunity to find the ball-carrier and make plays. Khalid plays very well in open space and hits with intensity. Khalid has clips of him at both WR and RB which will benefit him as a LB by allowing him to react on instinct against opponents at positions he understands. Again, nice burst on the ball.
On the negative end of things, and this first is not really a negative...just a fact...he MUST get bigger. If he can add size (muscle and growth) to get to about 210-225...it will help him. In follow-up to that, he tends to get swallowed up by linemen when trying to play between the tackles. 1v1 against a ball-carrier, he's fine. But once he gets to the SEC and has to go through a 280-310 lb OLineman...he needs more size, strength, and leverage. I don't see Khalid as the fastest kid out there. Far from slow, but he can improve his speed. And a final thing he MUST work on is that he tends to make a number of tackles high. If you're going to stop these SEC Running Backs you need to get lower, sqaure-up and bring the wood. Tackling guys at the shoulder pad level sin't going to work most of the time.
-------------
Finally, Scout's preliminary ranking (I expect this to change) only lists the kid at as an unrated 2-star kid. I fully expect that his camp work can boost this kid to a 3/high3-star prospect at OLB. He need to get to work on his videos and hone his skills some.
Bottom line, this is a steal for Tennessee IF!!!! this kid fulfills his potential and puts in the work.
Offers can be extended until February. He very well may end up with offers from those schools you mentioned. Check back at that point.

I'll give both of you a little thought. His Recruiting video on Youtube shows that it was posted on March 28, 2011. The kid won a camp MVP and he does have some skill and some definite potential. I think there is a lot there to support the fact that the reason he hasn't gotten a lot of offers yet is due to the fact that he's late in getting his name out there. His hometown of Mableton, GA only has about 30-35,000 people in it. Nothing wrong with that, but that supports the train of thought that he's slow in getting things out.
I can't say that he will - for sure - get offers from UGA, GA Tech, Auburn or whatever...but now that he's on the ball in getting his name out there and he's participating (and winning MVP awards) in camps -- his offer list is sure to grow with big school.
UT got a gem...ahead of the curve on this one.
